OFFICIAL Tevita Pangai is not our problem anymore

At this stage it looks like he's seeing out 2021 and joining the Dogs next year, with Brisbane releasing him from his 2022 contract. If that's the case, the club won't need to subsidize the deal.

Surely we don't need to chip in anything for him next year then, because that figure is more than what we are reportedly paying him
If he's getting paid more than his current contract then we shouldn't have to pay anything

Waiting for the official announcement, but I'll be happy if we retain him for the rest of this year.

This club cant afford to go back to back spoons and cant really afford to lose another guy that can play prop/middle after releasing Lodge

Will go well at the dogs. Much better match than Tigers. I think his career would die at Tigers.

I think he will replicate this season if he joins the dogs. Some moments are gonna sting to witness but I think it’s best for all involved.

Still isn't official until announced. I'm surprised at all this though, very happy he will be fully off our books but two things:

1. How is this acceptable given he is under contract for next year? I get the club being willing to release him, etc but this should not be allowed, it provides an incentive for other players to agitate via third party / dodgy means for a release.

2. How do the Dogs have the money still? They have been on a massive spending spree.

I think the situation is unique in Brosbane are clearing house. I do agree with you sentiment though.

Apparently we are expected to pay some of TPJ's contract next year...why? I hope we don't.

Also, the media are talking of Vaughn basically being a done deal to the Dogs as well, so again, how do they have 1.5 million sitting there after all their signings?

If this all happens, the Dogs have a gun team forming if they, like everyone else, can get a 9:

1. Dufty
2. Cotric
3. Naden
4. Allan
5. Addo-Carr
6. Burton
7. Flanagan
8. Hetherington
9. ??
10. Vaughan
11. Jackson
12. Pangai Jr
13. Elliott

15. Thompson

I truly hope he plays well. I just hope we play better.

I couldn't care less about the bloke IF the rumours are true about him shopping himself around again this year after the stupidity of last year.

Dogs were paying some stupid freight for a few guys.

The club giving him permission means he can deal and talk anytime.
