Devestated by this news, but understand it too. The man owes the club nothing. Every excuse under the sun to leave during our wilderness years but stayed.

And no man his age should ever be burdened by the responsibilities off the field that he has.

He has unique pressures most of us on here could never fathom.

He will go down as one of the best players this club have ever produced.

But what he also leaves is a huge gap in our salary cap.

I for one think we can now trust our front office to maximse that space to the max.

Certainly go and speak to Shibas manager and arrange for his big pay day end of this season.

Then get X and Te Kura signed up for 5 years.

Got to start thinking about some long term replacements for a few current untouchables.

Cooper Bai could be a natural look for a Paddy replacment. Off contract in 2027 so could this be the itme to get the ball rolling on that.
