I just don't really get the argument though... isn't that a squad / leadership issue??
Bellamy has been at the Storm for 22yr this year and he flogs and demands more from his team than any other coach, but they've never been burnt out, because the squad and leadership group just continually want success.
Cleary will be along the same lines, because you don't win 4 in a row without getting absolutely flogged every preseason and then getting structures drilled into you day after day.
If you want success then you have to get flogged by your coach... that's what you sign up for.
If that becomes too much then you've likely got a weak squad rather than a hard coach
The Storm could do it because they had a core of Smith, Cronk & Slater who could play their career under that intensity. The players around them constantly cycled, most could cop 2-3 years of it but that was it, sign for overs at a struggling club, new journeyman comes in.
