The Changes Fans want to see

Oh, and the only other change would be that all video referee reviews are done in NORMAL speed. The only freeze allowed is to check onside from a kick.

Double movements, groundings, they all look different slowed down frame by frame. Obstructions too.

Normal speed. At most 2 looks per angle. If all angles are shown twice, ref makes his decision.

Dont' agree with that last bit.

Refs call should be Benefit of the doubt to the defending team.

If the ref couldn't rule, he shouldn't be told to rule.

Differential penalties - instead of a kick for touch, you simply get another set of 6 for things like offside, incorrect play the ball, holding down in the ruck. Too many games are decided by penalties. Foul play like head high etc would still be penalised with a kick for touch

Dude, there's always 3-4 angles. 2 views of each angle, that's 6-8 looks. Think about how many times you look at it on the TV. You make your decision after 3-4, max.

Benefit of the doubt should still go to the attack. If after 8 looks you're not sure it's NOT a try, award it. Afterall, they look at it to see if they can find a reason to disallow a try. That's the only way they could get them wrong like against the Bulldogs this week.

a red button on the controll so during a game u can press and select a player to be sent to the bench and replaced

Hows about they allow the captain to slap the ref once a match for bullshit calls... that would be interesting

I'd like to see more afternoon games.

The Souths Vs Tigers game this arvo is a perfect example of why. There is no way we would have seen the amount of ball movement and fluky stuff if that game was played in the night. No way at all.

And nearly 30000 fans!!!! For once, a very impressive Sydney crowd [eusa_clap.gi

Id like the onfield ref to make the "video ref" decisions by watching the replays on the big screen. He has the best idea at what went on at that precise moment on field. Eg Friday nights Soward incident, I reckon Tony Archer awards that try.

I agree to some extent, but I wouldn't have them going off the big screen as at some grounds decisions would have to be made of a screen in the opposite corner, and some of the pictures aren't overly clear. Something like the booth system they use in the NFL could work though. They have to make their decision within a certain timeframe too I think

Plus it was so cold in the shade. I thought the ground seemed to be slippery as there were a bit of errors and players slipping over a fair bit but that is what the game needs. More afternoon games in Sydney for sure.

The 5 mtr rule brought back. Turn Forwards into forwards, make them work hard. Also from that you would get deep back lines with IMO an improved running game.

The 5metre rule would kill the game. These guys are so fit now they would be sprinting 5m every play the ball, meaning the game would be defensive struggles decided by penalties. Kind of like union.

I would like to see bad defending stop being rewarded with penalties, more consistency and less bull shit calls when it comes to grounding the ball, like if your fingernail touches it for 1/1000th of a second should not equal a try.

You obviously don't watch enough football.
On average I watch 2 games a week, any broncos game, usually fall asleep halfway through 2nd firday night game and every sunday game. I honestly don't ever remember a kicking missing from DIRECTLY in front, some miss from very close, like Geyer in 06 grand final lol.

I remember Lockyer missing one in front a few years ago. I remember because I was at the game and said to my husband, "surely he can't miss this one" (having a bad time with the boot), and unfortunatley, yes he did miss.

I would like to see a Saturday arvo grand final, and a Friday night state of Origin, with no other games that week. The video ref doesn't bother me so much, but now that we have two refs, it would be nice if the amount of forward passes, markers being offside etc reduced.

5m offside would severly reduce the speed of the game and then we are watchin Yawnion. I would like to see the scrum disappear altogether and just play the ball. The forwards are out on either the first or second tackle anyway, so it doesn't really take them out of the game. And for all the time and energy wasted on setting the scrum when it makes jack difference anyway is pointless.

It would be nice if the offside rule was properly clarified and enforced. And it would be nice if players didn't get penalised/put on report if they as so much as touch someone's head. The game is turning a little soft.

Stand alone rep and Origin games.
Scrums against the feed( at least let them try to do it and not penalise which happens if they do attempt it)
Let the players tackle without a penalty for a tackle considered by refs to be too hard.
Get rid of golden point
Respect the footy. Ground it with both hands firmly on the ground.
More day games. Makes for better footy. Saturdays don't suit Broncs though. Sundays.(Bias much)
Too many tries off kicks is spoiling the talent of the game.

Lots of us would love to see it, but the powers that be won't allow it. Too much lost revenue if there's only one or two games a weekend. Locky's suggestion of having a QLD City-Country to be played on the same weekend as a NSW City-Country and Test match is ridiculous.

They don't penalise. They just say "came out the same tunnel". Scrums are ridiculous. Handover for knock ons and forward passes. Have scrums only for balls that are kicked into touch, ensure it is fed into the centre of the scrum and allow both teams to compete for it. That'll discourage teams kicking for touch all the time unless they have a good hooker.

WTF? The rules say you can't tackle above the shoulder. That's all they penalise.

Agree 10000000000000000000000%. Regular season games should NOT go to golden point. Draws are perfectly acceptable!

However, it's not going away. In which case they need to make the points system fair:
Win in regular time: 4 points
Win in golden point time: 3 points
Draw after golden point: 2 points
Loss in golden point time: 1 point
Loss in regular time: 0 points

Totally agree. 2 games Friday night, 1 game Saturday afternoon, 1/2 games Saturday night, 2/3 games Sunday afternoon, 1 game Monday night.

I think my rule change I mentioned earlier will help. Sort of goes hand in hand with what you said about having to have both hands on the ball and ground it with control. No more ability to just dive on a ball in goal, have to pick it up and then put it down. Only people who can ground it are the defenders to force a drop out.

After how many times of calling it back.

How often [icon_thumbs_do A good hard hit and the player is penalised. Touch footy much.
