The Changes Fans want to see

No, in touch footy ANY tackle would be penalised, and you'd probably be sent off :P

I agree some penalties are soft (Broncos copped it with 2 really soft high tackle calls in a row leading to the Titans' only second half try). But that's the rules. I'd much rather that than allow some high tackles and penalise others.

Any contact with the head should be penalised. ESPECIALLY on the ground...**** I hate how people rub their hands and forearms in people's faces.

Touch footy was just an example of what the game is becoming re tackles.

Inconsistancy in tackle around the head by refs is a out and out joke. Throw a soft arm around the shoulder and penalty. \
All we want is the refs to be consistant No dramas with penalty for above the shoulder tackle but gees it is becoming a joke in almost every game. I HATE face rubbing but it has been going on forever and won't be stopped.

I've read bits above, but I'm still half asleep.

Union Scrums or get rid of them. They are a waste of time. If the forwards don't like it. Harden Up.

has a kicker every missed from directly infront? I doubt it

You obviously don't watch enough football.

LOLZ.

broncopwn, that's embarrassing.
lol, whatever, maybe it's happened once or twice, my point still stands, it's not really an incentive for teams to defend better because if they score under the post it's a 99.99999% chance of it being 6 points anyway.

I would like to see players forced to play their actual positions during a scrum so we can see backline v backline. Isn't that the point of scrums these days??

Good point.

This'd also help the ridiculous "Rush to the scrum to stop the clock" BS. Unless you have your actual forwards there, time stays on.

Problem will be with interchanges keeping track of who is who. We could be sitting there at the scrum with the ref saying "who replaced number 12, 15? OK, who replaced 15? 6? OK, 6, you're in the second row"...

I'd like to see a couple of changes to interchanges:

1. Reduce it to 6 interchanges per game, still with a 4 man bench
2. Allow an additional 2 players to be added to the bench as "replacements" in case a player is injured and can not continue. Replacement players can play U20s or Q Cup the same weekend.

That reduces the number of 20 minute players, but also doesn't hamstring a team unfairly if they have an unlucky knee injury or something.

WOW, I actually agree with every change Coxy has suggested.... Coxy for ceo? lol

Ok...I just did that for a bite...I'm sorry [icon_lol1. [icon_lol1.

It doesn't work if you admit it's a bait before anyone's bitten! [icon_lol1.

All you have to do is ask.

I'd like to see refs allow more advantage if an infringement occurs - this has improved so far this season but they still mess it up.

I want the scrum removed from the game altogether, it's an embarrassment.

I would like short arm penalties introduced whereby the tackle count is restarted or a tap is taken. A kick up field is too much reward for something like an accidental offside or an incorrect play the ball.

I like the idea of the 6 point try.

I'm happy with the way the video ref is being used at the moment but it still baffles me that they can't rule on forward passes.

Touchies need to be more involved and call stuff. It's like they have been warned not to step into the ref's turf or something?

I'd like to see an emergency reserve added for when a player is taken out of the game through foul play or maybe through serious injury. This could be exploited though but it could be done. If a player is injured out of the game (not foul play) and is replaced by the emergency reserve he is automatically unavailable for the next week or 2. If a player is removed through a foul this rule doesn't apply.

Bring back the 5 min sin bin.

Kick the sharks up to the Central Coast. Build a footy ground at Rockhampton and let the Bears go there. Kick Parra over to the South Island of NZ.

Save all rep fixtures til after the grand final... how do you top the GF? SOO and Internationals in the following weeks, that's how.

Only person so far that has agreed with me!

Have scrums only for balls that are kicked into touch, ensure it is fed into the centre of the scrum and allow both teams to compete for it. That'll discourage teams kicking for touch all the time unless they have a good hooker.

I disagree. The team in possession of the ball has a better chance of regaining it through a contested scrum, so why wouldn't they kick for touch? If they kick it down field, they have almost zero chance of getting the ball back unless the opposition knocks it on.

I would like to see them get rid of touchies altogether - I simply do not see a place for them, especially with 2 refs and a video ref.

I agree with Phil Gould (surprise!!) that video refs should only be used to rule on grounding for tries (ie anything that happens in the in-goal in the process of scoring a try).

I agree with a lot of other things already mentioned on here, not going to repeat them.
