The Dolphins discussion

Michael Chammas has put together a potential inaugural Dolphins team in the SMH, complete with contract values ... the guy is either taking the piss or deluded if he thinks the Dolphins will be able to get some of those players for the values he suggests in the article

Chammas is an idiot most of the time.

An oft-repeated question, but how the hell do these guys get published as 'journalists'?

They are going to go the way of the Crushers if they don’t change their strategy.

isnt min wage like 115k or something idk why he has 90k listed as min wage players

Min wage is 120k for a certain number of players in the top 30. For the rest of them the min wage decreases.

What is their strategy?

if it's up to Bennett, it will be forge their own identity and don't try to be the Broncos.

BTW, this is what the CM are saying Bennett will be doing in 2022

It is understood Bennett will work for the Dolphins next year in a part-time capacity setting up their structures, identifying potential recruits and negotiating player contracts.

This is Nick Campton's possible team

4. Phillip Sami - $250,000
5. Corey Oates - $500,000
6. Cameron Munster $1,000,000
7. Braydon Trindall - $350,000
8. Christian Welch © - $750,000
9. Harry Grant - $800,000
10. David Klemmer - $650,000

15. Tui Kamikamica - $400,000
16. Josh Kerr - $350,000

Spine: $2.8 million
Middle: $2.75 million
Edge: $1.2 million
Centre: $400,000
Wing: $900,000

Total salary cap: $9.11 million

some notes:
  • I don't see Fifita taking a sizeable pay cut
  • he has Oates on 500k ... Chammas put him on 150k
  • Kodi Nikorima isn't coming back to play bench for 250k

Did I read right that they aren't going to be able to play under their red colours?

Only the NRL could **** up expansion, and give the new, very very old club the finger at the same time.

Should let them use the same kit they currently run. It's the club's identity, just not to Sydney flogs.

There are also plenty of Dolphins juniors already running around the NRL. I think they will get decent players here, in lower coin, pretty easy.

Bennett will only be responsible for the good contracts (e.g. Haas), some other wood duck will be hung out to dry for the shit ones (e.g. Boyd, Milford).
