SPOILER The Dynasty Begins: The Brisbane Broncos are winning back-to-back premierships in 2026

Other than defence it's also ruthlessness... we need teams coming into games against broncos expecting to lose. They might hang for 20mins, but if they concede early the bad thoughts start coming in and then you run over the top of them.

We were breaking every team in the comp bar the Panthers like this in 2023. Arm wrestle for a while and then put the foot down and blow teams off the park in 15-20mins of ferocious attack. A little like what we did this finals series tbh...

We just need to get in front like that to break teams early rather than leave it til the death!

Storm to fall apart with Munster signing with Perth in the offseason for ‘27 and Bellamy leaving to coaching director at the titans

One of Penrith’s 7 or 13 to have a season ender

Brisbane to win the GF against the Eels

It's all going to come down to attitude, fixing our defence and timing our run.

If we have the right attitude and spend the pre-season nailing down Madge's style, we'll be almost unstoppable.

The way we played in the finals series where we came from behind in every game, we can't do that all season long, we will burn out and it will all come crashing down in the back end of the season.

We really need to fix our defence and starting playing on the front foot from the start.

If we rock up to pre-season thinking we're king shit because we're premiers and everything will just work out for us and we won't need to work just as hard, we'll be in for a rude shock.

We're going to be the hunted next season, we need to find another level, but if we can, back-to-back is a very very real possibility.

Penrith will be better and can win the comp but I still don't think they'll be as strong as 2021-2024.

The Storm will be there again, can't see a Bellamy/Pap/Munster/Hughes side capitulating even after back to back losses. But Penrith have their number in big games and we seem to have lost the fear factor against them.

Brisbane should have improvement in them. They finished low or mid table in a number of key stats that can improve, even if they aren't gonna be at the top like most premiership sides given the style they play. And just playing better for longer periods. Against the Raiders they scored almost instantly and then were poor until like the 65th minute. Ordinary first half against the Panthers. The GF was like the Raiders match, score early then instantly on the back foot for a long period. Maybe they won't be an 80 minute side like Penrith but it can definitely improve.

I think losing consecutive GF's is going to take a toll on the side and they won't be back again next year. I can see next year being a sort of mini rebuild year getting their game and squad right before making a charge in '27.

They're up against history next year. No side in 100 years has lost consecutive GF's and made it a third year straight. Since Souths in the early 1920's, 5 clubs have lost consecutive GF's and not made it the following year. I think there's a pretty good reason for it. Losing one GF is bad enough, losing a second year straight especially being ahead by 10 points at half time, it takes a toll mentally.

@Santa

Finally, I can post this. After I annoyed you with were should it be posted. lol

I think the mental demons for them is that Penrith are better than them, and now our best looks to be better than them.

That can start to weigh on them if they think it's pointless in their current state.

Their defence was not up to scratch this year, but they'll still be playing Meaney in the centres next year

From a player perspective, Melbourne need forwards, it's that simple IMO. The mental scars of 2 GF losses in a row though will absolutely take their toll. Especially the latest one where they had one hand on the trophy for the majority of the game...we all know what that feels like.

They've got this season to win it, then they will disintegrate. Bellyache is Melbourne. Will be like us losing Bennett the first time. Expect 3 coaches in 6 years to roll through there.

We are going to cop it at Origin time next season. Has Madge coached a team that has been heavily depleted during that time?

Even if that rings true, got full belief in our top 30 and squad depth to step in and do a job when the weapons are out.

Big part of Madge’s coaching culture

Team still looks pretty strong... but just waiting for NRL to have us play sharks or wahs in NZ.

In terms of the team I'd be switching Arthars and Anderson... Anderson can't defend at centre... he's been getting torched all year whenever he's there.

I'm not sure Staggs is a guarantee for NSW either.. Crichton will be one side (left or right) and then they love Latrell, Turbo, Best, etc. NSW loss is our gain though.

Walters probably not back by origin... he did it in September and 9 months recovery, but he delayed until after GF, so basically October for surgery. That puts him returning around July, but he'll need to get up to speed as well... but Duffy can come in there.

Has elite short kicking game, and Reyno still handles the long kicking... Bhunt could also switch to 6 given we have a few hooking options, but that combo doesn't seem to work out so let's go next man up and give Duffy a shot. This could also be Coby, but I feel his game is more suited to 7 and unsure how he'd go next to Reyno.

Talty could be the 13, but not sure he has the ballplaying... I'm kind of hoping Paix might put his hand up to be that hooker / lock utility to replace Smoothy. That increases his usefulness not just at broncos, but also across the league.... it might also give him a long term role at the broncos and ensure he gets a longer contract.

My only thinking with Paix is that he's a former halfback (so his passing with ball in hand, etc. could still be useful), but he also upped his defence / physicality this year, so he may not be a liability in the middle defensively if he's defending next to another hooker. He was also getting through big minutes at time this year... he gets a bit sloppy with long minutes at hooker, but shifting him to lock as a ballplaying tackle bot might be ok (removes the crouching at dummy half).

I think Souths Logan also used him as a lock when Mozer was first getting Qcup games alongside him... Paix was their gun player at the time and they wanted to make sure he could still get on the field.

I’d love to see Paix learn the Mr. Fixit role Smoothy was so good at. If Walters isn’t ready, the coach might decide to put Bunt at 6 and go with Mozer at 9 and Bukowski at 14. I think both play next season and will be interesting to see if Bukowski has jumped Mozer in the order or not.

I see Mam back in the starting role next season. Can't see him staying on the bench
