Thought i'd make a separate thread ay lads. 8-)

Barcelona are poised to hand Mark Hughes the solution to his biggest Manchester City problem by tabling a £35million bid for Robinho.

The Champions League winners have identified the Brazilian star as their fall-back option if they miss out – as expected – on Bayern Munich flier Franck Ribery.

Ribery, also targeted by Chelsea and Manchester United, appears to have his heart set on becoming Real Madrid’s third mammoth signing of their summer spending spree.

And should the Frenchman get his way, leaving Barca in the lurch, Nou Camp coach Pep Guardiola will throw all his ammunition at persuading City to let Robinho leave after just one season at Eastlands.

Guardiola, who has also looked at Chelsea’s French winger Florent Malouda, believes Robinho will give him what he wants as he seeks to refine the squad that won La Liga at a canter before destroying Manchester United in Rome last month.

The Barca coach was in the running for Robinho when City gazumped Chelsea with their £32m deadline day bid on September 1 and believes the South American would easily fit into his team.

Robinho said: “It is always very good for any player to hear they want you.’’

Not sure how much substance there is to that article, but i reckon he would be an ace signing for Barca.

I would prefer him to Ribery I think he suits the team more. I would love him plus either Ibra or Villa plus a left back and a DM if Toure does get the shits and leave.

Toure is going to stay!

I think Ribery and Ibra are pretty much off limits for everyone now. Their prices are astronomical.

Villa looks pretty likely to head to Barca, although an unnamed English club have made a bid apparently. Probably Man Utd. Can't see him heading there though.

Yeah Villa has said he wants to stay in Spain and I think he would score double what Eto'o did with his finishing and the chances Eto'o wasted this season.

Hmmm.....
.........................Valdes........................
Left back....Pique................Puyol.......Alves
.........................Toure........................
...........Xavi....................Iniesta............
Henry/Robinho.........Villa..................Messi

I think I need a moist towel...

Barcelona are to make a move for Liverpool keeper Pepe Reina after the Nou Camp club's talks with current number one Victor Valdes broke down.

Fook off thanks.

Pepe will return to Spain one day, and i'm sure he'd love to play for Barca again but that won't be for a while yet.

I mean, Liverpool are on the cusp of something great. [icon_wink

How is Robinho city's biggest problem??

Probably because he acts like a bit of a tit.

Didn't he fly over to Brazil in the middle of the season and stayed there for a while?

Barcelona are set to push Rafa Benitez's patience to the limit by launching a bid for Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina.

The European champions have already been met with resistance in a move for Anfield midfielder Javier Mascherano - but Lionel Messi has stepped up the pursuit by inviting his friend to the Nou Camp.

Benitez has insisted neither Mascherano nor Real Madrid target Xabi Alonso is for sale and now he faces a raid for is 26-year-old keeper.

Barcelona are moving for Reina after contract talks with Victor Valdes broke down yesterday. The treble winner has a year left on his contract and wants to be paid the same £150,000 a week that midfielder Xavi gets.

But the club and his agent Gines Carvajal suspended talks indefinitely with Barca not prepared to go above £100,000 a week.

The Catalans are working on a number of options but have identified Reina as the safe choice, according to Spanish newspaper El Mundo Deportivo. They believe he would cost at least £17million but could force a move if he declares a desire to return to Spain four years after leaving Villarreal.

Messi has also tried to coax his Argentina team-mate Mascherano into pushing for a move, despite Benitez insisting even £50m wouldn't tempt him to sell.

Messi is quoted in a shitrag as saying: 'It will be beautiful if Barcelona signed Javier, as a player and as a friend. Not only to have him on the pitch but also off it as well. He's a great player and would be a great signing.'

If Barcelona fail to sign Reina, Fiortentina's French goalkeeper Sebastien Frey has been mentioned as an option in Italian press while £10m-rated Villarreal keeper Diego Lopez and Athletic Bilbao's Gorka Iraizoz are also on their radar.

A £5m swoop for Spain Under 21 keeper Sergio Asenjo is close, but Barcelona are likely to want the option of a more experienced recruit as well. The 19-year-old Valladolid keeper is wanted by Fiorentina, but his agent Zoran Vekic says he would rather stay in Spain.

Barcelona could hold Valdes to his current contract while Asenjo acts as understoody, but would be tempted to try to cash in with reported interest from Manchester United.

Not at all worried. Daily Mail is usually full of shit.

I hope Valdes stays I really rate the improvements he has made in the last 3 seasons he has steadily got better and is now both brilliant at times and very dependable. I don't rate Reina as highly as I rate Valdes now, I think he is a bit slow off the mark sometimes and outside of his amazing penalty saving ability I think he is slow to ground as well.

Reina is almost on par with Casillas as the best keeper in the world IMO.

I can say that without any bias at all.

Casillas is the superior shot stopper, but Reina wins just about every other comparison.

He acts as a sweeper and is very quick to clean up any through balls, etc.

He is a brilliant organiser of the defence. Positioning is top shelf.

Excellent at coming for crosses. We also land a few extra goals a year because of Reina's smart thinking whether it be a throw or a kick. He's always quick to dispense of the ball.

He has brilliant concentration. Teams rarely get in decent shots when playing Liverpool, but if they do, Reina is usually right on it.

He's kept the most clean sheets in England for three seasons in a row. Would have been last season as well if we didn't let Keane score in our final match against Tottenham.

I honestly think he is hugely underrated by the majority of fans worldwide and the media. I don't care though, i reckon he's a legend.

Johnson is pretty much landed at Anfield.. What a coup! Hopefully Arby stays around and fights out 2nd choice RB probably the best bargain fullback in a long time (Arbeloa that is)

Arbeloa will probably leave for around 8m. He only has a year left on his contract, and recently said he was keen on the idea of heading back to Spain.

Reports emanating from Spain suggest David Villa has opted to sign for Real Madrid over joining either Manchester United or Chelsea.

Zinedine Zidane has stressed that Real Madrid will do their utmost to secure the services of Bayern Munich midfielder Franck Ribery. Reports suggest a £70million bid could be in the offing.

Valdes has signed a deal until 2015.

BUMP!

The word here in Spain is Barca are on the verge of getting Villa all the local sports papers are talking it up and if it goes sour they will get Tevez who they have some sort of pre-arrangement with. Eto´o should end up at City or Inter at this point and Real Madrid are still after Ribery, Albiol, Benzema and now Mascherano (sorry Ningers). I watched some of Spain´s semi against USA last night at a local pub, the locals were less than pleased to say the least particularly with Madridista Sergio Ramos and his piss poor work in the second goal.

I forgot you were in Spain! How's it been?

Funny about Villa, because the last i heard was that Valencia said he wasn't for sale anymore or something. Transfer season is crazy!

The Tevez story ties in with what his agent said about a 'third unnamed club' apart from City and Chelsea.

I think Albiol's joined Madrid. They're most likely to sign Arbeloa soon as well, and they're still keen on Alonso.

I reckon Mascherano will stay.

don't leave Eto'o!!!!!!

Penny, your silly if you wouldn't trade Eto'o for Villa he doesn't waste the chances Eto'o does, he is a better passer and he fits the short passing system because Spain play with it aswell.

Ning, Spain was awesome as is the Nou Camp.
