Sunderland have bolstered their squad ahead of the new season after signing Wigan Athletic's Lee Cattermole for an initial fee of £6million, which could rise to £8million.

Yeah i'm happy with it. It means we have 2 midfielders who can actually tackle now. To be honest it's refreshing to hear someone who isn't a Sunderland fan say we've made a good signing. A lot of football supporters have been taking the p*ss about who we have signed so far, going on about how 2nd rate they are. People seem to forget that we're Sunderland, not exactly the most prestigious club in England. I think we'll do alright this season though, about 11th would be nice.

Haha Penny, Crouch and Pav will be interchangeable (both tall), but I expect big things from Pav this year after a full off-season and a rest between seasons. No sure re Keane and his role.

By Spurs standards it has been a pretty quite signing season, although then again it's not over eusa_think

Bassong from Newcastle looks good but we will struggle at the back till King, Woody and Dawson are back. Young Kyle Naughton from Sheffield looks the goods early on and we are looking to some of the youngsters to come through in Rose and Livermore. Also would love to Huddlestone fit as he has got one of the sweetest boots I have ever seen, when he hits it right of course.

Would still like a left winger and to get rid of Bentley, but can't wait to the weekend vs Pool to see exactly where we are placed and how the season ahead might pan out.

Well this transfer window seems to have been quite uneventful. We got some bloke called Kilgallon from Sheffield and Alan Hutton on loan. We were also linked to Robbie Keane and Benjani. Rumor has it that Benjani failed a medical with us, not that he's any good anyway.

Very pissed off to see Citeh got Adam Johnson. More English talent which will never get a chance to develop over time as they are stuck down the pecking order of a rich club.
