Yes, but think back to what fields were like in the 70s and 80s. A brief shower turned them into mud baths. Drainage and under turf structure is so much better these days.
 
I wouldn't worry too much. Things have been dying at Lang park since the mid 1800's.
 
God only knows what oils/pollutants/chemicals were deposited on the ground during those floods also.
 
Absolutely Nashy, they gutted the lot from what I can remember. If it's known to be a problem, as it clearly is, it should be fixed - it's QLD's premier field sporting facility and one of the best in the country. There's no excuse for getting it wrong IMO. Just fix it FFS!
