Plentu of speculation regarding the new upcoming TV deal so thought I'd set up a thread for it all to go in.

Interesting to see The Game Plan has been moved from OneHD to Channel 10. Might be another indication that 10 is going to make a big play.

C'mon Channel 10 get the rights please. At the very least I want a tv deal that see 3 or 4 live games on FTA every weekend.

Didn't Eddie McGuire lose his s**t over that?

10 moving The Game Plan over to the main channel.

Heard he lost his s**t on the radio over it.

Personally I hope two different channels get it, ensuring that the game maximises it's value while getting the treatment it deserves.

if they just give me a double header on Sunday arvo, I'll be happy too.

Who gives a shit if Eddie lost his shit? Didn't hear that he did but we shouldn't care if he did. It has nothing to with him .

Obviously I do because it's funny to see such a high profile guy act like such a child in public.

Also shows AFL is sweating, they know how much those networks want a slice of the NRL pie.

I'd be very keen to hear some audio of that!! Eddie what a dickhead.

It is good to see him carry on like a clown but really he is irrelevant to the NRL IMO.

Okay Beads.

TELEVISION'S two fiercest rivals - the Seven and Nine networks - have discussed an unprecedented deal to share coverage of Australia's two biggest football codes.

Under the proposal, Nine would broadcast an AFL match in the southern states while Seven would show at least one NRL game live in New South Wales and Queensland.

The move, which would quash any hopes the Ten Network may have of gaining a ratings foothold in either code, comes amid manoeuvring for the upcoming broadcast rights which are expected to reap more than $1 billion for the NRL.

It is believed the Nine-Seven discussion about the potential sharing of AFL and NRL games was raised several months ago.

''It's definitely on the table,'' said a source close to the discussions. ''It's been discussed and there's a real chance it could happen.''

A Seven-Nine free-to-air trade would allow pay TV's Fox Sports the flexibility to simulcast all rugby league matches as it does at present with AFL matches, further adding value to any future rights package.

He does Triple M mornings down in Melbourne. He's a ****.

This is what I'm hoping for.

Once the TV Deal is out formally, if Foxtel don't have all games live then I'm cancelling my subscription. If they do have a dedicated NRL channel with all games live and in HD then I'll most likely keep my subscription.

I want ALL games live. That's all I care about. That's all anybody cares about really.

Since we'll be going back to one income, we too will be seriously looking at cancelling our Foxtel subscription - and like Spwny will be definitely cancelling if all games aren't live on Foxtel.

I would love it if the NRL negotiated that you could get, say a $20 a month credit on your Foxtel if you were a ticketed member.
Possibly if they negotiate an NRL channel, they can throw in subscription to that for free with ticketed membership.

I am hoping for a similar deal to the AFL because I am getting rid of foxtel soon and would like to still be able to watch all Broncos games and hopefully a few other games.

i just want all the NRL games, like they are on normal foxtel, on Foxtel on 360.

AFL have a "season pass" channel or something on Foxtel on 360 which gives you all games live. Costs $20 per month on top though.
If they had that for the NRL I'd do it. $20 a month for Foxtel on 360, plus $20 a month for the NRL channel...done.
Plus no contract, so could just ditch it when the season is finished. $40 * 8 per year instead of $60 * 12 on conventional Foxtel (without IQ etc).
