I know the subject of the utter boring factor the scrum has become, but whats the number one thing you miss from the past that isn't present in the modern game? Apart from real contests in scrums For me I miss the ability to playing the ball in any direction if no marker is present for example a tap kick forward and regathering to score at the line.

i really miss the chip kick

The Broncos winning!

At times I agree there fredie but then there are things in the modern game that are far worse in that factor like being able to ground the ball with your torso instead of control with the hands, but it still had its place in the games, I liked that it gave other options to the person playing the ball and made it more open for attack.

Fighting
Actual scrums
Most forewards playing the entire 80 mins. (none of this sh!t of being replaced after 20 mins)
The Hill at Lang Park. (nothing better than sitting on the ground with a blanket)

I don't understand the appeal of contested scrums. Just a sloppy spectacle that holds too much significance when determining possession.

I miss...

Being able to rake the ball in the play the ball.
Being able to tap the ball if there wasn't a marker at the play the ball.
Stricter grounding interpretations
Faster play the balls
High tackle & spear tackle tolerance
How the two refs. worked together in 2009 (eg. 1 senior ref., 1 junior ref. monitoring the ruck) Why they changed that baffles me.
Competant video refs. - oh wait!
