TIPS

You know it! I am sure I will have a little nibble on him if he is anything over $3's and as you say with a few decent horses in the field he is sure to be paying in that vicinity. I think Kavanagh could have another monster Spring Carnival.

He certainly has the cavalry for it!!

There is a lot of depth around this Spring!!!

Shame Kav lost his best Cup chance - Shamoline Warrior - to injury.

For anyone who is interested I reckon there are a couple of good things going around today;

SR7 H13 Thankgodyou'rehere
SR5 H3 Herculian Prince

Also a really nice horse first up today at each way odds;

Doomben Race 3 Horse 7 Miss Imagica

Good luck to anyone having a punt today

We had 4 tips here last week for 4 collects so let's see if we can keep it going.

Tomorrow looks to be a day for the favourites to me. I reckon you will be able to put a few horses into a fixed price multi and get a collect. Those horses are: Rosehill Race 3 #7 Hot Danish - Rosehill Race 4 #2 Parables - Caulfield Race 7 #8 Moudre. No prizes for tipping favourites but a collect is a collect.

And while I am up here is my preview of tomorrow's Underwood Stakes at Caulfield.

1. SHOCKING
Outstanding run in the Makybe Diva, probably the best win of the Spring so far. Has had 8 goes at Caulfield now for just the 1 win and is the obvious Flemington specialist so I think he will run well here but I don't think he can make it back to back wins.

MASTER O'REILLY
The bookies will love seeing this bloke back. He will probably run on well, as he does every single time he runs, but he just never produces enough to win. Has gone in more blackbooks than any other horse in history but never converts a good run into a win (since the 2007 Caulfield Cup). No hope here.

3. ZAVITE
Ran pretty well in the Makybe Diva but obviously looking for a lot longer and a bit out of his depth at this level at this time of year.

4. METAL BENDER
Looking outside the favourite I think this is your horse. Has an appropriate name because he is tough as nails, and is a proven weight for age performer at the highest level. I am going to go out on a limb and tip him to beat the favourite.

5. HEART OF DREAMS
Winner of this race last year and a consistent performer. Has raced 8 times at Caulfield and only missed a place once so you would have to respect him here. Last start was good from a bad barrier and has a better barrier tomorrow so expected to run a place.

6. RED RULER
Just cannot get across the line in Australia this bloke. Often promises to run a race but rarely delivers. Can't have him here.

7. BUCCELLATI
If he turns the tables on So You Think after finishing 17.1 lengths behind him in the Memsie, I will dead set give up the punt.

8. LARGO LAD
Good win first up but for mine is not your horse that wins 2 in a row, especially a group 1. Not for me.

9. MOATIZE
Scratched.

10. SO YOU THINK
Looks to be the best horse in Australia at the moment. Enormous win in the Memsie, but at $1.85 not good for a bet. Obviously you don't go broke backing winners but I'd rather have Metal Bender each way. Mad to leave him out of exotics though.

11. ZABRASIVE
Had a look at 2 Cups and a Plate on TVN on Thursday night and they are lining up to tip this bloke to win the Caulfield Cup!! He loomed at the right time in the Memsie and didn't deliver. Wouldn't be backing him here.

12. DARIANA
Made nice ground late in her first up run and I am expecting her to do the same here, but wouldn't think she could win or run a place.

THE TIP
Metal Bender is my pick to win the race. Heart of Dreams and So You Think the obvious ones to fill the placings.

I think/hope Shocking will mow them down but as you say the shorter straight plays against him, Rodd will have to have him a fraction closer which may not suit him. Great horses respond though and I think he is in the form to start winning away from Flemington regardless of distance.

Ha, I've got $2 each way on Master O'Reilly.

No, I don't expect to win anything. [icon_lol1.

Not devastated with Shocking's 4th he just couldn't get out and came home nicely, did his Cup chances no harm with that run, So You Think is as good as home for back to back Cox Plates!

I am still hesitant to call So You Think home in the Cox Plate. He looks the one to beat at the moment most definately, but the Cox Plate is harder to win for the 4yo more than anyone else. Last year he carried 49.5kg to win the Cox Plate, this year he will carry 57.5kg, an 8kg rise. That is a massive rise in weight in the space of a year for an extremely high pressure race. I know he has come out and won 2 WFA races since then but the Cox Plate is the ultimate acid test.

I like 2 horses in Melbourne tomorrow

Race 3 Horse 5 - Linton

Race 8 Horse 5 - Jesse's Girl - Each way special I reckon!

Good luck if you are having a punt

I couple I like in the Guineas.

#8 Smokin Joey - has the Pressday form which is bulletproof at the moment. His last run he did a bit wrong when he was asked to go, and he does have a tricky barrier but I reckon he will run well at nice odds, currently 20-1.

and #14 Rekindled Interest - he could be a really good horse this bloke. Expect him to charge on. Great each way bet.
