Tom Dearden Discussion

Kent tonight talking about the try celebration today and the Broncos copying Wally and Alf. No if you're having a milestone game the player scores the last try of training always been done at the Broncos.

The Wally Alf celebration wasn't 1987 it was 1988, Alf didn't get MOTM, and it wasn't his debut.

But other than all that quality commentary of the situation.
:rofl

Have David Fifita and Dearden played together? Do they already have an existing combination? If not, I can't wait for those two to strike up a lethal partnership.

T boyd and Fifita have the combination , look good together.

Queensland U18 last year. Fifita was captain and Dearden in the halves.

Queensland 16 Dearden missed out in 2016 and Fifita missed out 2017 so they missed each other there.

All the highlights I've seen of him seem to be on the left side. Is he going to play on the right for the Broncs? I doubt Milf will get moved after all this time...

He's only been on the left at Wynnum.

I think the timing of his debut may prove to be a master stroke by Siebs. The Souffs coaching staff will have minimal information and minimal time to workout Tommy's weaknesses (if he has any).

Hope the kid slept well and absolutely kills it tonight.

Rock on Tommy!

Rock on Tommy!

I'm fairly sure Wayne knows plenty about Tommy tbf

Is this fact or are you just fairly sure?
It's not like Deardon is a blow in... he's been on the Broncos radar since Bennett came back in 2015, probably even before that.

I'm sure he would've gone down to see him play a few times and probably got tips from his retention team and junior development teams on what he brings to a footy team.

@Unbreakable Another one I've noticed to add to the list.

Does it get any tougher for a debut game than this? Good Luck son , get into it.

Very few surprises anymore in football. Kurt Richards was on Bennett's staff last year and is the ISC man to Seibold and is the Queensland U18 coach.

Dearden did emerging camps for U16 and U18- Bennett runs them.

Bennett watches a lot of MM and ISC.

Bennett was part of the retention committee.

Bennett would still watch ISC on Fox and have connections everywhere.

Just take this forum as an example, how many people have watched his ISC games? Be lucky to be five, his MM games would be even less but everyone now has seen footage, heard reviews, read details and seen stats- that's with no effort at all.

Add in JD too who has plenty of ISC connections access to footage and contacts.

So, what did we all think of his debut?

I thought he went well and didnt look out of place at all, actually underplaying his hand.

Tried his guts out. More than I can say for the majority of the team.

Felt sorry for the kid, cringed every time a Burgii ran his way.
