Transport to ANZ

OK you Sydney people, I have booked my flights to Sydney for the GF . I will be spending Monday in Sydney looking about with a few mates so we want to be able to get to and from the ground easily and be in the right area to have a look around Sydney.

Any suggestions which area to book a room would be much appreciated.

Anywhere on the train line is the easiest to get to and from ANZ - obviously the city is best for sightseeing if it's in your budget

Thanks meat77 budget is ok but any chance you can be more specific? I haven't been to Sydney for over 30 years.

Seriously, I have no idea. Sydney is just a giant #### hole so any recommendation from me is worthless :P

The Mercure next to Central is best for transport to ANZ and not that far to downtown SYD, about 15mins.

Any hotel in the city will be close to a train station - from there it's as easy as catching either a direct train to Olympic Park or getting one to Lidcombe and changing trains there.
