Under 20's Pacific Test

Happy to see all the Broncos but not happy with the team.

They've selected about five players who are better on the fringes. I'm unsure what the go is with Bateman, but they've got the wrong player at lock and even so Arrow should have come into the side.

Cannot believe their choice of fullback. Screams of finding a spot for a player even if they don't deserve it on form. Hastings is a quality young player but from what I've heard, has been very inconsistent so far this season and they really should have gone with Holmes with Mosby-Gela on the wing.

Byrnes would have been a better choice to. With Trbojevic out, I'd dare say he's been the form Australian fullback.

It's only the Under 20s but it just goes to show how much reputation plays a part even this far down.

I thought the side was pretty straight forward myself. The only selection I had question marks over was hooker where there wasn't an obvious choice. I'm glad they've gone with the most experienced option and hope he makes the most of the opportunity.

Byrnes

I really like this crop of U20's. Great players and characters

Broncos U20s are a seriously good team. Main improvement needed is defence and switching off at times

Has anyone seen much of Jackson Hastings this year. I have only seen the game against us when he was absolutely useless.
From that game I got the feeling he was getting a free ride on his surname much the same as Kurt Gidley.
Kevin Hastings was a solid player but that was about it IMO

Haven't seen him play this season yet... but he was pretty good last season. Certainly deserves some of the praise he got then.

Boys have assembled on the Coast for camp, medicals tomorrow.

YOUNG gun Bronco Jordan Drew has been brought into the Junior Kangaroos team for Saturday's Test on the Gold Coast.
Drew, one of the stars of the Broncos Under 20s run to the top of the NYC ladder, will play in the centres.
He replaces Dragons' NRL player Euan Aitken, who has been forced to withdraw due to injury.
Drew's inclusion means six Broncos are now in the Junior Kangaroos squad.
He joins Ashley Taylor, Joe Ofahengauae, Jayden Berrell, Jayden Nikorima and Jai Arrow.
The speedy Drew has been a mainstay of the Broncos Under 20s back line after making a senior NRL debut in Round 22 of 2013 scoring a try in an exciting home win over the Dragons.

[h=1]Junior Kangaroos Jayden Nikorima and Joe Ofahengaue are Kiwi born but proud to wear Australia’s colours[/h]

JAYDEN Nikorima and Joe Ofahengaue may have Kiwi blood but they insist they are true blue Aussies as they prepare to lead the Junior Kangaroos on Saturday night.
Brisbane’s representative influence has filtered to junior level, with four Broncos – Nikorima, Ofahengaue, Jayden Berrell and Ashley Taylor – named to face the Junior Kiwis at Cbus Super Stadium. A fifth Bronco, Jai Arrow, is Australia’s 18th man.

The rise of utility sensation Nikorima and front-row ironman Ofahengaue is the most compelling story of the junior international.
They were born and raised in New Zealand and under the code’s eligibility rules, Nikorima and Ofahengaue are permitted to represent the Junior Kiwis but when the teenagers run out tonight in green and gold, it will be their formative steps in a trans-Tasman journey they hope ends with a senior Australian jumper.
“It was an easy choice for me, I’m Australian,” said Ofahengaue, 19, who made his NRL debut against Cronulla in Round 2.
“Even if the Kiwis were interested, I wouldn’t pay much attention.
“New Zealand will always be where I was born but it feels like I belong over here.
“I moved to Australia when I was nine. My family moved here because my brother (Tueki) was scouted by the Newcastle Knights.
“It didn’t quite work out and he ended up moving to play for Easts Tigers in Brisbane, so we decided to stay and that’s when I got into league.
“This is a huge thrill for me. Hopefully I can take the next step and play for Australia at senior level.’’

The next generation of Kangaroos are ready to stpe up.

Deciding Nikorima’s allegiance was more complex. During the week, his older brother, Kodi, was drafted into the New Zealand senior squad as 18th man for last night’s Anzac Test.
As kids, Kodi and Jayden would bash each other in the backyard of their Palmerston North home. While Nikorima family members have urged Jayden to play for the Kiwis, the 18-year-old was never in doubt.
“Kodi loves New Zealand but I’ve always had a desire to represent Queensland and Australia and play Origin,” Jayden said.
“Coming here at a young age (10), I feel Australian.
“Some of my family are in my ear to play for the Kiwis, but Kodi just said, ‘Go with where your heart is and I’ll support you 100 per cent’.
“Getting the Australian kit the other day gave me goosebumps. You don’t realise how much the emblem means to you until you put it on. It’s a great feeling.’’

Stinks of I want to play origin so I'll choose Australia. Oh well, he's made his choice, and it's for QLD, so I won't complain too much.

Can't wait for this game after last night was called off. Will be watching Ash Taylor with interest. Hope Geoff Toovey isn't watching lol

Or play for the only country I know and where I learnt every second of my football.

If Keary has to play for NSW, then there's no reason why Jayden and Joe shouldn't play for Australia. Those two were basically the same age when they left NZ as Keary was when he left QLD.

However, the fact that Keary wants to represent Queensland tells me that by 10 you do have a sense of your country. I'm fine either way, and at least they are Queenslanders. I care far more about what club Jayden chooses to play for then what country he chooses to play for in the silly form of league we call Internationals.

We'll host the live discussion in this thread.

Does anyone have a Foxtel Go account I can borrow to watch this? That's not illegal is it?

You can get a free two week trial of Foxtel Play through their website. Just be sure to include the sports pack when you sign up. I used the free trial to watch the Anzac day games last year and it worked a treat.

Yeah I have already used it on all of my devices. Tried to sign up again but it seemed different. I'll have another go.
