Updated - Lockyer rules himself out of Manly match

OK, realistically here's the options:

Option 1
6. Gillett
7. Wallace

Option 2
6. Norman
7. Wallace

Option 3
6. Hunt
7. Wallace

Frankly I think Hook will go for option 1 because it means Gillett is on the field for 80 minutes, and he has the ability to make something out of nothing. It will put more pressure on Wallace though, who will do much more first receiver work.

Rumor : Langer will announce at the press confernce he is coming out of retirment to play.

6. Wallace
7. langer

9.Macca

14. Hunter

Of the 3 options, which is the least likely to be our halves combination next year?
The one that seems to be the way they are going. Seems stupid.

I trust the club to make the right call

I agree. But going against Norman is the fact, as Pete says, he hasn't played first grade for months.
Going against Hunt is the fact he has a good rotation and combination going at hooker. Making Macca play 80 may dent his effectiveness, particularly late in each half. Bringing Baptiste onto the bench is similar to Norman, he hasn't played first grade for months.

But either will be an option for next year given a full offseason training in that position.

How many80 min games has gillet played??

If we win, this will be the biggest win in our history.

Nup. Manly are beatable. Broncos team is strong, in form. One player doth not a team make. It'll be a great performance, but I don't think it can top the baby Broncos win in 2002. Sure, Wests Tigers were ####, but you'd be flat out recognising most of the players in the Broncos team :P

IMO this decision will empower and motivate the players further (if that's even possible).

Gotta hand it to Darren. He is a total team player - it's been the case during his whole career, reinforced at yesterday's presser and on full display with his decision today.

I am going to miss the #### out of him :(

Hold the phone Blocker!

Darren Lockyer is reportedly still set to play in Friday's NRL preliminary final against Manly, despite reports to the contrary.

The Daily Telegraph reported this morning Lockyer has decided to pull out of the clash after after consultation with the Broncos medical staff and coach Anthony Griffin at the team camp in Sydney.

The newspaper reported the Broncos were expected to hold a media conference later today to announce that Lockyer has withdrawn because of his fractured cheekbone.

However a Broncos spokesperson told 612 ABC Brisbane Lockyer hadn’t been ruled out, despite reports.

The Broncos have called a media conference for 11am at their Sydney hotel base.

Hahaha, I wonder if the presser will be to say. "Locky's in a bit of pain, but we won't make a decision until game day"...just to keep the circus going.

This is superb! LOL
