Updated - Lockyer rules himself out of Manly match

Facial injuries are tricky. The risk of permanent disfigurement is pretty high.

Locky will take it to the absolute limit with so much on the line.

Twitter it is a depressed fracture

As I called earlier in the post game thread, it was very obvious the cheekbone depression in the Channel 9 interview. The worry will be that he will not be able to see out of the eye, and with the NRL's absolutely ridiculous scheduling of giving the Warriors 8 days break to our boys only getting 6 days off he will have even less chance of the swelling going down any.

I don't think he will play, now if we make the GF that may be another thing altogether even though he shouldn't play. If he is to play then it will be a secret x-ray and letting the press know it is all a ok and coming out at the seasons end telling us what he did. Not a good way to go out but I fear the worst sorry guys

Locky won't be able to feel his face or walk without pain tomorrow.

Mate take the positive away from this, if that's his last game, what a better way to finish it????

And what a better way for the future stars of our club to prove themselves!

I know people are thinking the worst, but Locky will play, thats a certainty, painkillers, head gear, he wont miss this match

Will painkillers and head gear help if he can't see out an eye due to swelling? That's the main risk in my unprofessional opinion.

This is majorly depressing.

I hope the football gods are kind to Locky.

I await tomorrow although as Russo said even if he's not okay it will probably be played out in the media that he is ok.

No idea if Griffin is bluffing but I hope he isn't.
