Vidot To Prop

Few things to consider, he didn't really play prop for the Jets, he came off the bench and played in the middle but given the Jets' structure that doesn't mean much.

His tackle count was never high when he did do it; 11 missed 1, 13 missed 2, 11 missed 2, 12 missed 0, 1 missed 0, 2 missed 1.

Being in the ruck for an NRL game would mean 25 plus tackles.

His runs would suffer because of that and he wouldn't be running at one or two chasers anymore he would be running at a set line of other 110kg players.

Not saying it can't be done, but his time and Jets and his runs on the wing can't really be used to say it if would work.

That was going to be one of my arguments. That he's never really played prop. He's played there somewhat for the Jets but it's not even close to how a traditional prop would play. Thankfully you've already said it so that you don't have to take my saying so as a slight on the ISC.

The other one I agree with, as you said, is running on the first or second tackle isn't the same as running as a prop, in the middle, against other big-bodies forwards.

More importantly though, there is no magical reason that props don't hit their peak until their mid to late 20s. And it's not just physical development. It's mental maturity & experience. The tiniest 1%ers distinguish the best props from the depth options, and those things can only be mentally instilled after years of knowing the role. If you're going to throw Vidot in there, it's pointless unless you want to develop him in to a genuine prop over 3 or 4 years. Which we don't.

Imagine what would happen to your confidence if a second choice winger got picked over you for a vacant prop position.

Have some faith in our team.
