The Ken Stephen medal recognizes the outstanding contributions of an NRL player in the community over the course of the season.

First presented in 1988 to Balmain legend, Wayne Pearce, for the first time ever in the history of the award, you the fans get your say on who you think deserves to win. (Click here to find out more about the award)

Each club has nominated one player based upon their exception work in the community.

I agree, it was better off not being a fan vote - most people are just going to vote for the player from their club. And let's be honest most people would have no idea what a lot of these guys do away from the footy field. If they are going to make it a public vote, they should at least put a profile of each the nominees and what they have done, so people can see if they are worthy.

Lol funny you shoudl say that, considering I went to the same school Nick Kenny did, and the school Jamie Simpson went to was our mortal enemy!

But yeah massive kudos to him to get where he has, and he is playing half decent footy to boot.
