A question though, if they owe 11 million dept and they fold, who pays the 11 mill? Who is responsible for the payment?

The assets of the club will be sold by liquidators for whatever they can get.

Creditors will be paid from what can be recovered. If it's only 1.1 million dollars then they will get only 10 cents to the dollar owed.

Actually there is.

When the Sharks go into receivership, they'll liquidate assets, including their trophy cabinet.
