Why do so many think Benett and Souths are an automatic premiership winning combo?
The Burgess boys are extremely inconsistent from year to year..
Crichton has left.
Cook hasn’t done much in the Australian team, and who knows if he will roll into the same form he had at times this year?
Don’t forget Souths played how Seibs wanted them to play, thats why they were successful this year - he got them to the position they were in.
When Bennet roles into town, they will be playing Bennett ball. Their plays, structures and how the players are allowed to play and roam will all change from what Seibold implemented to the predictiveness of what Benett brings.

My point had absolutely nothing to do with how bennett would go at souths so im not sure why you are mentioning that?

I dont want or think we will get a souths player, but I do think there is just as much chance they will follow him as players will follow bennett. Look at their team list and tell me a player who didnt improve under him? Murray, cook, walker, t and g burgess, sutton, r jennings. All of them played for him and owe as much to his coaching as tpj, oates and lodge do to bennett. We will lose 1 or 2 just like we did last time he left, but there will be no mass exodous...

Btw, seibold was a massive part of the queensland set up when mcguire, gillett, oates, boyd, and milford have been apart of it. You really think paul white and co wouldnt have got feedback off them? You think he would have got the job if those players werent fans of him? And if they dont have a problem with him do you think they would leave to spend an extra 3 years with someone before they stuck at a club with far worse commercial opportunities, not as good facilities and a worse track record with player care? Itd be a bit short sighted if they did dont you think? And if they dont, would they be advising other players to leave?

For starters my post doesn't just have to cover your point.
Secondly do you think the players won't feel let down ,that he left after being offered an extension with souths. Why follow if it was his choice to leave them, the complete opposite to Bennetts situation. And Tpj , lodge and possibly Oates is a mass exodus in my eyes.
Thirdly white is good mates with seibold just like hook , so I don't believe he did ask any players. Instead he tried to win them over with his little bbq stunt.

How is it untenable when Wayne wants to stay and so do the players?
Surely the media and Broncos board circus this year is enough evidence of what is to come next year (if not even worse.)
I am not denying the players want him to coach next year.

How much genuine say would Wayne have next year if he sticks around? The club is now planning for future after Wayne. Yes he is contracted for 2019, but do we really want more instability around the club for for the entirety of next season?

What if we win the gf with Wayne at the helm next year? How do the players and fans feel about letting our premiership winning coach get his marching orders? And vice versa with Seibold? Lot of egg on the Broncos boards face.

Well he doesn't need to have any say , just organize his team for a full tilt at the title.

Exactly! But at least he will leave his club the best way possible.

What if cook wants to come to the broncos? Will Macca actually get punted?

This isnt a lunch time footy game where you pick your mates, its a business, and any player stupid enough to make a career decision based purely on how a coach left a club when he was 3 years away from retirement would have left at some point anyway... im a massive, massive fan of bennett and what he has done for this club but have you followed your favourite boss around for work or do you do whats best for your career? Why are footy players different? Especially for 3 years worth of a career

Guys, can we all just take a minute to appreciate the fact that Walters didn’t get the gig?
Craddock actually wrote an article about how dissapointed broncos fans would be about him not getting the job hahaha what fans are these journalists talking too all the time?! Haha

Why ? Cook was bog average until last year. So if seibold had anything to do with it, surely he could do it with Niko. And cook would want $$$$

I suppose it's a gamble either way though... If they swap now and Wayne wins one next year at Souths the Broncos look stupid too. No risk, no reward...

So what happens if Seibold doesn't get a one year extension next year at souths which seems like it will be the case? Surely there's no way he joins Brisbane as an assistant next year given the circumstances. And no nrl club will sign him for just one season. Surely it can't be ideal giving the reins of the biggest club in the nrl to a bloke with one year nrl experience who has just had a year out of the game? Still plenty of unanswered questions i think. I'm definitely not convinced we are doing the right thing just yet.

Seibold is not off contract until the end of next season.

unless Bennett, the Broncos, the Rabbitohs and Seibold make some arrangements for an early trade, he will be coaching Souths next season.

Souths won't get rid of him early, unless they can also secure Bennett early
