It's inevitable ! definitely think lodge and Tpj will follow

Lodge would always have been heading back to Sydney, the only reason he was planning to sign a new 2 year contract was to replay the club for giving him a second chance and helping him out with the whole compensation mess.

TPJ has already come out and stated that while it was Bennett who brought him to the club, his loyalty is to the club ... and unless he is a deadset moron (which i doubt) the he will realise that Bennett will likely retire at the end of 2021 and should he follow Bennett, he could be at a club he doesn't want to be at, with a coach he doesn't like. all that works in our favour

He's been there a year then logged it !! Who's gonna follow him ?

you don't know how many players want to play under Seibold, all his players could love playing for him for all we know... not to mention for us ...

Judging by the way the team dramatically improved their peformances despite having a near identical squad, as well as the numerous times senior players and officials asked him to stay, I’d predict quite a few

Who says demetriou won't follow and end up with the job after Wayne , he is well liked by the players. Tpj will head back over the border for sure. Wouldn't surprise me if Oates follows too.

who's to say he will

No chance! Bennett has coached the Burgess boys and gagai I'm sure they will be in the teams ears. Bennett will kill it with there halves and they have great backs , they will have a premiership for sure. Not so convinced about us.

Most disturbing thing I am finding about all this coaching business is the severe lack of "Are you not entertained!?!?!?!?!?" quotes in response to Unbreakables post way back on page 93.

Come on guys, y'all slipping.....:hsughwiggle:

Pangai Jnr doesn't care who coaches. Neither does Oates. Just pay the men and they'll stay.

I love Wayne. He's the GOAT. He's the reason the Broncos are a powerhouse and haven't gone the way of the Crushers.

But there's any number of reasons why this is the right call:
- His handling of the Lodge saga. Regardless of Lodge working out, it was a significant fk up at the start of the year.
- The humiliating losses we copped this year. Dragons (Rd 1), Titans, Bulldogs, Knights, Warriors, Manly, and then getting belted by 30 on our home turf in the finals. This sealed his fate.
- Our defence has only gone downhill since 2015, which is normally Wayne's trademark.
- The fact we got absolutely trounced in the finals the past two years.

And if you believe the grumblings coming out of Fulcher Rd, half the people who work there can't stand him. He doesn't talk to the CEO. That is absolutely an untenable situation for an NRL club, regardless of who is coaching.

We signed a guy who is almost 30 years Bennett's junior with enormous potential. Wayne restored the club after Griffin. It's up to Seibold to take it to a new level.

IMO Bennett 2.0 was a success. We are in a much better position than in 2014. But this was the right call at the right time.

So let me get this straight......you are bagging Seibold for accepting the head coach position at the best nrl club in competition for a $1M a year?

No I'm saying that not many souths players are going to follow him because he legged it.

Wayne wont be here next year.
He wants to be seen as digging his toes in, and wanting to stick around for 2019 for the players. He stood there at the presentation night in front of the entire squad, their family and friends and stated he will be coaching the broncos in 2019.
I also have no doubt he would rather be “sacked” by the club, so that he can walk into the Souffs gig with 1.2mil in hand and earn his wage at Souffs also.
He is playing the media beautifully, for one last time in Brisbane.
It’s untannable for both clubs, and don’t forget Souffs came out only days ago saying that if Seibs doesn’t sign an extension they will release him for 2019.

There will be a fair bit going on in the background, which isn’t hard to see considering it wouldn’t have take 5mintutes to agree on a contract right for Bennett to back across the border.

So what makes you think seibold will be better?

My point had absolutely nothing to do with how bennett would go at souths so im not sure why you are mentioning that?

I dont want or think we will get a souths player, but I do think there is just as much chance they will follow him as players will follow bennett. Look at their team list and tell me a player who didnt improve under him? Murray, cook, walker, t and g burgess, sutton, r jennings. All of them played for him and owe as much to his coaching as tpj, oates and lodge do to bennett. We will lose 1 or 2 just like we did last time he left, but there will be no mass exodous...

Btw, seibold was a massive part of the queensland set up when mcguire, gillett, oates, boyd, and milford have been apart of it. You really think paul white and co wouldnt have got feedback off them? You think he would have got the job if those players werent fans of him? And if they dont have a problem with him do you think they would leave to spend an extra 3 years with someone before they stuck at a club with far worse commercial opportunities, not as good facilities and a worse track record with player care? Itd be a bit short sighted if they did dont you think? And if they dont, would they be advising other players to leave?

How is it untenable when Wayne wants to stay and so do the players?
