West Tigers Coach

Kevvy Walters

I would love that. Especially if it's a long term deal, like 4-5 years..

It keeps him away from the head coach role at the Broncos..

I think Taylor will get the job, though.

Apparently he isn't interested this time round ... wants the assistant role under Bennett at the Broncos.

I hope hook gets it, and I hope he goes well down there (just not when he plays us)

can they rehire Potter and then sack the board? it seems like the smartest move ...

Looks like Jason Taylor is set to get the nod according to FoxSports.

There are Tigers fans who actually prefer Griffin to Taylor. Please have him, and we should take Taylor (as assistant for now).

Tigers fans reasoning for wanting Griffin was he would bring any off-casts with him, you know, players that Bennett doesn't see any reason to keep.

Seems like a recipe for success to me?

It will be really interesting to see how Taylor goes.

I suspect his first big concern will be looking to fix the Tigers defence. As Twiz pointed out, it was his biggest strength in 2007 as Souths were the third best defensive side that year and given how much the Roosters have prided themselves in that department, I'm sure he'll be able to add a thing or two there.

Just looking at what happened to Souths in 2008-09 it appears their biggest problem was the culture at the club and how they still had to settle for signing veterans like Rhys Wesser, Colin Best, Michael Crocker & Craig Wing to fill gaps.

Really? Who?

I get what Cult is saying, the types who respond to every Broncos facebook update with "Grand Final here we come!/why was Hoffman dropped as 5/8? he was doing really well!/Hunt tries to do it all himself, bring back Peter Wallace!"

They're happy with wins over shitty bottom eight teams.

I would have liked to see Griffin get the Tigers gig.

He wasn't the right coach to take us forward ... but maybe a big part of the problem was that he wasn't able to make the hard decisions on the guys he nurtured in the 2008 NYC team, which form a big part of our current NRL team.

He wouldn't have that problem at the Tigers and it would have been interesting to see how he went.
