What is happening at the Broncos?

Trying to keep my posts relevant to thread...

IMO the issue is organisation, leadership and the team playing as individuals. This has not changed since RD1 against the dragons.

Our halves have improved, but its still not anything to sing about. What worry's me most is that big part of problems can be fixed with attitude. Collectively we have a good group of players - which i think puts us in top 4 without major injuries.

I am starting to question if Wayne has the touch anymore to get these men playing football as a team. I know there were disruptions during the off season, so gave it a few rounds to click. Almost feels like the team doesn't gel out there. I do have a concern that some of the leadership problems will put other good players offside, this stuff spreads like rot in a team because everybody knows it, but no one wants to say anything.

What do we need for a top 4 finish? 16-17 wins... Need to improve drastically and quickly over the next 3 rounds. Flicking through the draw and based on current form I can figure maybe 8-10 wins. If we had of continued on from last week I would have felt like we'd turned a corner but it's the constant good 1 week, shit the next that we've come to expect over the last 2 years. If Wayne doesn't figure out what the issues are and make some changes I think we'll be in for a rough season.

I watch every game, all teams most weeks. And what's getting to me is that we have the cattle to be a very good football team. Better than most. We should be winning games. But it's almost comical viewing!! Zero shape or width in attack plus poor execution, terrible defensive decisions, unfit players... Frustrating.

I agree about having the cattle. It's partly why I don't drop my pants every time the team loses a game.
I know we have the class to be very competitive.

The thing about our cattle though..... there isn't a natural game organiser amongst them.

Seems the same every year - "team is improving".

When does it stop "improving" and become a basket case? Is the Class of 2008 perhaps still fulfilling their perennial chokers fame?

I think we play too flat. We always seemed rushed and under pressure. Watching Souths today play with nice depth and having players run onto the ball was impressive. They are way better coached than us at the moment.

For the life of me, why did we let Jai Arrow go?

I'm sure the Titans offered him more money but he's such a solid and reliable player. Great defense, great hitter, pushes hard to make post contract metres, big engine. Such a loss.

Can’t keep them all. How else would we fit underperforming door stop favourites...

I was all for letting Wallace go may have been a little wrong perhaps but letting arrow go was madness. To let McGuire play lock? To keep Thaiday or Sims? Veteran funding can go to anyone playing for 8 years or developed by club or a top 30player for 10 years in the game. Plenty of class 2008 meet that criteria.

Bennett of previous years would have given Thaiday a push (Parker was playing way better when he got one), let Sims go and told Boyd he was on 2 year $500000 deal...

Reckon with better list management we have enough cash for significantly more in the club.

Bennett has reportedly split up with his girlfriend.

Prepare for the media blow up. Especially from Ikin.

Wayne Bennett splits from partner Dale Cage

IT was rugby league’s most surprising true love story — and now it appears to be over.
For the moment, anyway.
The tempestuous relationship of Broncos coach Wayne Bennett and Dale Cage, the former Newcastle receptionist 16 years his junior, has taken a sad twist, with the pair telling friends they are no longer together.

Bennett’s colleagues and associates, however, say they would not be surprised to see the pair reunite after a stormy year in which they have repeatedly parted, only to get back together.

Bennett, a former Queensland Father of the Year, shocked the league community in 2016 when he left Trish, his wife of 42 years.
The Bennetts had previously shared their private life with the ABC’s Australian Story, telling their inspiring story of raising two children who live with disability.

Trish Bennett was devastated by their split and remains single.
In 2016 Ms Cage, a mother of three, moved to Brisbane to be with Bennett, and the pair bought a home in the Brisbane riverside suburb of Yeronga.

Bennett, now 68, and Cage, 52, were reported recently to be engaged but it appears this might have been a fleeting moment of harmony.

So when and where are the other gossip page articles about the other 15 coaches in the NRL published?
