What Role Should Adam Blair Play In The Team?

In his first 2 matches of the season he has taken a grand total of 6 hitups. (5 vs Souths, 1 vs Sharks) in the process he has made less than 40m

That is absolutely PATHETIC for a starting prop. Its not even acceptable for a bench prop

Compare this with James Graham, one of the best ball playing props in the game - 19 runs for 130m and 19 runs for 136m.

Who are you guys even arguing with? Yeah Adam Blair hasn't been good but nobody else is kicking the door down so until then, his role is starting prop forward.

Without even looking at how players are going in the ISC,

Jarrod Wallace has played 32 mins of NRL footy this season, making 10 runs for 96 meters.

Compare that to Blair's 80 mins of NRL footy this season where he has made 6 runs for a grand total of 41m

So in less than half the game time Wallace has made:

More than double the meters
Nearly double the hit ups.

Hell even Thaiday made more meters in the Sharks game alone than Blair has made in both games (Thaiday had 5 hitups in round 2 for 49m more than Blair has made in both games combined)

So in guessing Blair will be benched this week? You and your mates seem to think Blair is just lazy and not playing the role he has been asked to, and bennett has shown already that he will bench those players, so I guess Adam will be riding the pine this week?

Are you seriously trying to make us beleive that Bennett has instructed Blair to only make 6 hit ups in 2 games.

I can't imagine any coach at any level of the game to instruct his starting prop to make so few hit ups, especially not the greatest coach of all time.

That obviously isn't what I'm saying. I think he has been instructed to move the ball before the line and sure up the middle. I think that through doing that his hit ups aren't there. Of course I don't think he has been instructed not to take hit ups.

No doubt he needs to balance things out and take more hit ups but that doesn't mean you can ignore the rest of what he does because you have taken umbridge to a stat.

I'm so over the extreme bullshit atm. Some posters would have you believe there is no middle ground. IF someone tries to have a balanced view and say a player has something's to work on but are doing other things well, they are 'defending the indefensible'

IMO Adam Blair should be sent to QCUP until he can learn how to make 300 metres a game, Jarrod Wallace is the second coming of Shane Webcke anyway, let's just start him and play him 80 minutes.

Blair hasn't been as lazy as I thought he'd be.

I think most would agree that on the basis of statistics alone Blair has not done enough. Also, most would agree that statistics are not the total story. I would be more interested in learning how his teammates rated his contribution but that's something I'm unlikely to learn. Perhaps 1910 may have some insight there. He will make more hit ups next game and his stats will improve with last weeks game being an aberration . He will continue to provide good solid defence in the middle ( shore up , sure up ? ) and doubtless he will still be trying to be a ball playing prop so I expect some rocks and diamonds.

Last week when it came to being in place for a hit up he seemed to be ready but sometimes the ball keeps going the other way so I'm going to give him some leeway. Interestingly we won the game he played 'poorly' in and lost the game he played okay in....no real comment there, just an oddball fact !

He doesn't have to make 300m a game ... Less than 41m total in 2 games is not NRL standard, hell its barely ISC standard

Enough of the personal digs, discuss the topic not the poster.

blair isn't very popular with some of the senior guys in the squad, so depending on who you ask on blairs current performance you may get mixed responses.

If true then that is a poor result for the Broncos. I have no way of knowing whether or not you have good information on that and I cast no doubt by that statement either, I'm genuinely interested to know what is the cause of the lack of popularity. What is the issue with Blair ? Everyone knows a happy team is a committed team and we all understand a player is going to like some more than others in his team, do you have any idea why he has gotten some off side or is it more that he is getting paid better money than others ?
