When they stopped signing Queenslanders and instead signed cockroaches, new zealanders and islanders.
Can't agree with this enough.Long held the belief the following were emotionally damaging to the club
1. Sims dropping the ball. A GF win would’ve maintained the domination
2. Locky getting owned by Beales knee. Completely destroyed belief
3. Losing the 2014 Nines against the Cowboys. Our first shot at something of value and we choked.
4. Losing the 2008 20’s final. Choked again.
Any of these wins would have had a huge impact on the group. It’s almost as though 2015’s finish was a culmination of prior impacts.
It was probably necessary to rotate the team after this. Most of the players from the 20s are now 30 - feeling old yet?
They haven’t won squat. Step up and do it for your long suffering town, before the town (which is notorious for a bandwagon) jumps.
Our focus has gone from demanding perfection and winning comps, to don't let that guy go at all costs.
I disagree completely, Peter Drucker would say that you get the right people on the bus first and then let them turn it around, But he would also say that just because someone is crap at their current position that they should be fired. Lets reshuffle the bodies in HQ around so that we can put our aces in their places, and see if that helps. We know that part of the current problem is Boyd, Milford, and others who no longer care of what they do as they are gone shortly, lets use this time to rebuild the HQ so that culture flows from there into the team. If Boyd and co. aren't interested what does that say about their boss in White? Get good people and the culture will turn around and be like new. Can't agree with this enough.
Culture of failure, especially in pressure moments.
There are no winners in this team. Neither are there in football ops who have been asleep at the wheel for years.
How many more embarrassing losses can you take? the playing group seems to be dishing them up more and more.
Maybe the club needs to undergo a change in ownership and management.
Never forget folks:
Premierships are great for business. Sales of memberships and every kind of merch you can imagine goes through the roof, especially ones commemorating the premiership. Can you imagine how much money the club would make after the first premiership in 14 years? And the board doesn't even seem to care about this.
