New South Wales selector Laurie Daley says he would relish the opportunity to coach the Blues next season but knows he would face a huge challenge to turn around their losing culture.
After Queensland wrapped up their fifth consecutive series on Wednesday night, this time with a clean sweep, Daley admitted the Blues were stuck in a losing funk.
The Maroons ooze confidence and the winning culture there is so ingrained many pundits predict a 10-year reign by Queensland.
And although Daley conceded Queensland were the better team at present, he was adamant that could and would change.
"It’s hard (to turn around a losing culture) but you just need to work hard, play how you train and eventually things will turn for you," he told foxsports.com.au.
"Then you feel the excitement of winning, you will want to taste it even more and that will drive you and spur you on to greater heights. You feel how important winning is and you breed it from there."
Queensland's ability to rise at key moments and pounce on the tiniest opposition lapses was one of the key differences between the teams.
