Who let the westerner's into the Eastern stand?

Yeah say what you like about the old Brisbane ANZ stadium, but at least we could enjoy ourselves. I used to take my bongo drums and we had trumpets and stuff some times. No chance of getting them in to Suncorp

I don't know they took my trumpet off me in the Western one night at ANZ [icon_shady

Hate Western at any ground. Boring.
I think it depends where you are sitting. I hear you guys from the supporters group saying how much noise you make etc but really there are groups of people all around the stadium making just as much noise.
Never been told to sit or be quiet but I have told other people. Really annoys me when I am into the game and people are up and down just buying booze.

Guys on Grandstand were saying today that the atmosphere last night was even better than Origin. Mainly because they were all Qlders and also Origin comes around again next year whereas this was do or die for our team/

Where I was sitting everyone was going bonkers. Eastern stand, right on the tryline, 3 rows back, Caxton street end. Great seats, great atmosphere. Last night was as good as any Origin I've ever been to.

Except for the last 90 seconds

mmm you were everywhere last night. I saw you outside the ground and you were in the section to my right. 322 I think it was. Was pretty much right beside you as you were walking up the aisle at game end. Some moron in my area made an off the cuff remark about your jersey. I think it was the booze talking because it made no sense at all eusa_think

sometimes this is a huge lack of crowd involvement. I sat in the supporters group aisle 313 this year and they have their chants and song for the boys but people stare back at you like you're a bunch of morons. I mean even if the grounds spokesman amped up the rowed (like at titans home games) the atmosphere would be so surreal and amazing i think more people would o to the football. It's all a huge thing to do with crowd involvment and backing you're team. If you're going to sit there and blankly stare in silence for nearly 2hours well wasnt that money well wasted as you hardly participated to one of the main reasons you go to the live games rather then sitting on the couch at home.
thats my opinion anyway

I reckon there should be an area set aside for the librarians, not the other way around.

The atmosphere was awesome at Broncos leagues club. Nobody whinged when I jumped up and down.

Or when I put the slam down on the table when Greg "Mentally Retarded Cockroach" Inglis scored.

The atmosphere was great from where I was (section 319 on the 20m line, about 20 rows back). I was standing and jumping up and down waving my flag when the Broncos scored lol. My kids were standing on the seats waving their flags when they scored. Everyone was pretty cool around me - except for a guy behind me that started off going for the Broncos , then became a Storm supporter, then a Bronco supporter and then went mental with joy when Melbourne won at the end [icon_shru

I thought the support from the crowd was fantastic.

I think the only option is to have a "family" section, which is alcohol free, and applies more general behavioural restrictions (stay seated as much as possible, strict on swearing etc). And that's where the stunned mullets can sit.

Have a "family bay" in each section (North, South, East and West).

Outside these areas, the only behaviour that should be stamped out is violence, excessive swearing and extreme drunkenness.

Hmmmm... the alcohol free bit bothers me only for the fact that I really enjoy a wine at the footy. I was driving the other night but had a wine (to calm my nerves) as the game started. I don't think I've ever been to a game and not had one drink. I see what you mean though Coxy - its a shame that some people can't control how much they drink. A family section would probably be a good idea.

They have those at the cricket, you can still go and have a drink at the bar in the break and then go back to your seat. Way, way more pleasant sitting with sober people than it is sitting with the drunks at the cricket.

And it's not so much the alcohol that's the main issue, it's that the area is designated as a "non-cheering" area almost. Let those who want to go to a game and act like they're watching it on TV have their spot, and let the other 90% of the crowd behave like a football crowd.

Oh well I couldn't sit in that section then - I'm trying to encourage my kids to get up and cheer at the footy. Right now I'm leading by example [icon_lol1.

And that's fine. It's mainly for parents whose kids want to go to the footy but get spooked by adults yelling and stuff. I know my young one won't want to be in that environment.

Yeah it can be pretty awful. Saturday night was fine (although Christopher was asking what everyone was saying when the entire stadium was yelling "BULLSHIT!" [icon_lol1. ) but at the Knights game we had some drunk wanker about 2 rows in front who kept turning around and talking/swearing/giving us all stupid running commentary to his mate who was sitting next to me. He also picked out a random Knights fan and proceeded to taunt him every time we did something good or they did something wrong. It was distracting and annoying and far too excessive. If my kids hear a swear word at the footy, I'm not going to freak out - its part of what happens, but when it is at the extreme that I have seen it - where people are so obviously wasted and are using words like "You f***ken c**t", it can be a bit much.

They had a family section at ANZ so why can't they have one at Suncorp?

Hate that B-B. I get really nervous as my husband always tells them to curb their language as there is women around  I get scared he will get into a fight.
They don't know that his wife is almost up there with the best of them [icon_wink .(in the right places though)
