Who's going to be the first to make sure Ashley Klein..

Lockyer and Hunt do have a better combo. That said, IMO the best combo is Cam Smith- Thurston- Lockyer.

Get them all to Brisbane STAT!!!!

We should really upset people and start a Lewis v Langer v Lockyer thread!!!! [icon_lol1. [icon_lol1.

Thread shall be called "We Three Kings".

Adding to Coxy's argument, Darren Lockyer plays better when Karmichael Hunt is at fullback. That to me just seals the deal, and I'd take Karmichael any day of the week.
Yes Sir, i agree.

No complaints with Klein he was better than I see week in week out in the NRL. First thing I said when the I saw Monaghan tackle Hohaia was 'thats a penalty try' and seeing it again I have no complaints about it. The other option was Monaghan off for a professional foul and a penalty given (which was the easy way out option).

Well played the Kiwis! [eusa_clap.gi

Man the Ref was shite as anything, but the Aussie's missed Pricey big time. Fitzgibbon shouldn't have been in the squad let alone the side!

I go for Hunt every day of the week as fullback over Slater or Bowen, like Flutterby said he'll never lose you a match.

The ref was fine. Although I i did only see the play where Billy passed it to no one and benji picked it up to score

Hopeless.

I have a bone to pick with that decision, but the way I saw it really would've likely meant we lost by more.

Slater was motoring over to that ball. I don't think it was clear that the Kiwis would've scored if Monas didn't foul Lance. Can't give a penalty try in that situation because I couldn't see how a try was so certain.

The way I would've ruled on that one would've been a penalty and Monas sent off. As I said before, that would've meant the Kiwis would've pretty much certainly scored on the next play regardless, and I highly doubt Australia could've done anything to prevent an absolute shellacking in the final minutes with only 12 on the field.

I was speaking to a QRL referee I know and he was telling me the whole "100% certain a try would be scored" stuff is a channel 9 myth. The actual rule is "a penalty try shall be awarded if in the referee's opinion a try would have been scored if not for the infringement".

So it only had to be Steve Ganson's opinion that a try would be scored, he doesn't have to justify it.

The other option was, as you suggest, a sin bin for a professional foul, and a penalty right on the spot where Monaghan took Hohaia out (so like 1m from the line).

Exactly a no win situation - give away 6 points and have 13 on the pitch or play out the rest of time with 12 players. It was a dumb thing to do by Monaghan god knows why he did it in the first place.

The Channel 9 commentators were on the ball when they said a million things could have happened which would have prevented him from getting to the ball. The fact of the matter was Monaghan took him out, in the in goal, whilst he was the frontrunner in getting to the ball. Penalty try awarded.
