More a rant post than a genuine question. This bloke already has the media in his pocket, League powerbrokers cowering in caves and a tonne of pre-existing mates he's accrued in the gambling world with plenty of power of their own to throw around.
The comp has never been in a worse state (yes worse than the Super League War). Only 3 teams at most can be considered true premiership threats over multiple seasons in a field of 16, rule changes that ruin the sport and are driving fans away faster than ever, a drought of quality players despite expansion happening within months and just a general disrespect of what League is and how it's supposed to be played and operated. It's like the guy is a Manchurian candidate for the AFL, that's how bad he's been, but the only ones with any real power to call his actions into question stick their heads in the sand and just fawn over his handling of the COVID era, which was ultimately nothing special anyway....
Is this too much cynicism? Or am I just blind to some positives for the game right now? Because from where I'm sitting it stinks to high hell.
