CRICKET WTC and Ashes Tour of England

I liked Cummins' answer in the post-game. The media were really trying to talk about the spirit of the game, etc and he said two things:

1. Bairstow does it all the time and gave some examples

And then when they had a dig about underarm bowling might even come out:

2. Yeah maybe, depends if you keep rolling out flat wickets

Nice way to put the shoe on the other foot. This series is fun.
Was gonna say the two pitches tossed up so far have both been flat as ****.

This pitch looked promising and possibly offering something to the bowlers with how green it was on day 1... but it turned into a road from day 2 onwards.

Both teams having to resort to exclusively short balls to get wickets should be a black mark on the curators... **** that was some boring ass cricket

Man that was tense

So in game 3 if England go to the short ball tactic after 10 overs how do our batsmen play it? It's a shitty, negative way to play but to the English bowlers credit they put in some real hard yards and probably bowled the short ball better than we did.

I think we just need to ride it out. Its a 3 day turnaround. When they resort to the short ball tatic they won't be able to maintain it for to long.

Murphy obviously comes in for Lyon and I'd bring Neser in for Hazle (surely England produce a green monster at Headingley in a last ditch attempt to save the series)

Gotta be prepared to be Steve Waugh vs Curtley Ambrose. Wear the bruises as an example of shit tactic

Yep. That’s the changes I’d make as well. Murphy looks like he’s going to have a long career for Aus so will be interesting to see how he goes against aggressive batting.

Such a shame Richardson is a walking injury though, I reckon he’d relish this intensity.

Matt Renshaw may have had a tough afternoon in the field but he came up with the play of the day in the Long Room 😄
