And this is where the entire whinge should end. The Umpires ruled him to be out. The End.Isn't part of the "spirit of the game" accepting the umpires decision?
No.
But in his defence, the square leg umpire was walking, and the umpire was giving the bowler his hat so I can see how you'd think it's been done.
Check the vision at 1 .06 of this video .
Greene is half way down the pitch . Marnus still in position at bat pad .
So whoever told you Green was collecting his hat and the square leg was on the move is a one eyed Pom .
Quit splitting hairs ...
I quoted you ,
the square leg umpire was walking, and the umpire was giving the bowler his hat .
They are the words I quoted from your post .
How can he give him his hat if he is still at the end of his follow through ?
He may have been preparing to give him his hat . Subconsciously unclipping the cap from his belt . But Green was at the other end of the pitch . Marnus was still in his position Carey had already released the ball . Umpire made a mistake . If he had called over , the 3rd umpire wouldn`t give it out .
I also dispute the square leg was on the move .
Seems like opinion is well and truly behind Carey and Australia, even among England greats. Thankfully it's a short turn around and it gets started again tonight.
Still think the biggest thing to come out of Lords was the short ball tactic. Is it a blip on the radar or a new way forward.
