Maybe we need a better nickname than BTK given the history of those letters lol

We've got Peeks. Let's call him Teeks.

The thing about that try is that Coates fly kicks Mariner. It's reckless and dangerous, and should have been a penalty to Brisbane.

I hate this so much. There's hand wringing about Walsh leading with the leg taking kicks in defence, but they all fucking jizz themselves over Coates because he trains with AFL players or lives in Melbourne or some other bullshit. Coaches should at least start questioning if it's dangerous, just start putting the doubt out there.

I am so sick of ‘oh they really tried hard’ they should have / could have won’ apart from our aging old halfback we have no leaders… getting rid of Farnsworth anf flegler ( who are doing great for the dolphins) was the stupidist thing we did apart from bombing a massive lead in the 23 GF. Ezra is good but no leader yet and no one else is standing up. Another weekend fu#$ed on a thursday night. We also let our best halfs option Dreardon go to the cows… each game we lose seems to be ok with some people ….. not with me though i HATE it when we lose because without Renyolds we just play adlib football and hope for the best. Maybe Alfie will get a run next week cos were in for a drubbing from the ‘hammer’

I am a bit pissed off with Reynolds.

As soon as he felt a twinge in his hammy, he should have come off the field.

But no, he wanted to wait until half time.

I think we are really feeling the loss of Flegs and Herbie more than I was anticipating. We had absolutely no go forward last night, compounded by the loss of Hass, and there's only so much Patty can do on his own.

I was thinking that we basically sacrificed herbie and flegs to keep Willison and Te Kura at the club (and upgrade Walsh); who when they fully develop are going to be unstoppable with Hass and Patty. We may have a tough 1 to 2 years, but the future of Hass/Patty/X-man/Te Kura is really exciting.

The boys call him tickles.
I like that.

Anyone who thinks Reno isn’t gone for a couple of months is kidding themselves. I think we’re in for a big learning curve of what this club is capable of. This is 2007 all over again where we lost half our team to injury while we were one of the comp favourites 🫠

and everything worked out fine since 2007 right? … right?

Navy SEALs say: "When you're under pressure you don't rise to the occasion, you sink to the level of your training."

The ones that know better than I do. Do we train in high pressure situations? Do we train in a way where we don't... choke? Simple things like Staggs passing from the ruck... arthars not catching the ball. Sailor with his 'Sailorness'.

Like... Have we ever trained in a way where we had to execute the match winner under pressure and execute? Break the play into smaller simpler sections and finish it off?

My brain's going to explode from all this over thinking and over analyzing. Maybe we did play well and this is just a one off. But I'm sick and tired of us choking. Even if it isn't that big of a deal or that bad of a game. Maybe I'm overreacting 😅

Every week, there is a clock/scoreboard and it will be set to whatever Kevvie says, two minutes to go, down by four and Carrigan you’re not on the field, start at the 60m. They do those situations over and over again.

As much as it sucks with all these injuries, it is what it is and the team, especially the young guys, will learn a lot. Even if this year ends up a step back, the learnings will have them primed for next year. We just need to extend as much of the exciting talent we have as long as we can.

I’m still not writing this year off by the way but I also think Reynolds’ injury might be a long termer.

I took an interest in Baker post Broncos’ signing and I saw some lazy habits. Against the Storm in finals Grant took advantage of him being slow out of the tackle and followed him to make ground and then the NSW Cup Grand Final thought his attack was very lacking- coming off the bench in a GF you need impact and he didn’t provide that.

I know he’s had lots of knee disruptions but he’s still played 35/46 Cup/NRL games after the disappointment of the Roosters exit he should have been frothing to play a GF.

Nothing changed.

It's not a penalty because it's not illegal. He's allowed to do what he did. He probably makes slight contact with the head, but given that he's in the air and Deine is on the ground, hard to avoid that.

But it's a bit of a stretch to say it should be a penalty.

… I don’t make these just for full disclosure they’re just hilarious

Can I ask where all these people that think Reyno is out for months and the club are lying about the severity getting this from? Is there information I’m not seeing?

Agreed. You are not allowed to push someone in the back when competing for a catch, so how is kneeing someone in the back any different to pushing someone in the back? It is still taking a player out of the contest, and if anything, it is more dangerous.

What happens if Mariner falls to the ground in that situation? Is it then deemed he was illegally taken out of the contest? Is that all it takes these days to win a penalty? Just flop to the ground?

Plus the rule change to make it that you are not allowed to tackle the attacker means there is essentially nothing you can do to prevent the try being scored. I'm surprised teams don't do it more. It's a free try everytime if you have someone capable of putting the kick on the spot, and if you have someone capable of leaping high.

We just need players that can leap higher, or are good at pretending they are leaping for the ball to take the other guy out.

When Reynolds went down, you’d expect us to be blown away. But in the end we should have won this game.
