definitely hala over wallace. wallace overs nothing, even hook doesn't want to use him. so why waste a bench spot? corvo needs to find a way to get hala fit though.

I think Wallace could be a very good player, just needs confidence.

Ffs. Just **** Hala off of you're not going to use him hook. What a joke!! Waste of time having Wallace there.. Hannant will knock him off the bench next week... Need some X factor and Hala showed us a glimpse of that last week, we have enough solid props in the rotation. IMO Wallace adds nothing....

Back to the upcoming game, I know it's early in the season, but I question why Lowrie keeps getting a spot. Offers nothing except tackling. Oates is back, he can be our interchange 2nd rower and it allows Cozza to revert to Lock with 3 props on the bench in Kennedy, Hannant when he's fit and either Wallace or Hala.

With Parker's 70-80, he can spend half the game (if that) in the front row, the other half at Lock and Sam, Matt, Alex and Corey O can share the rest of the time in the 2nd row. Obviously you'd like to keep players on the same side but they're experienced enough to be able to adapt if they need to swap around a bit

Oates spent his entire time onfield last game defending in the middle
I don't base my opinions on 5 - 10 minutes of one game. Oates is a damaging ball runner and nothing like Lowrie

Team list is good.

Hopefully Hala gets the nod over Wallace. Think this is the perfect kind of match for him. We should be running them ragged as is. Bring him on around twenty in and watch him skittle defenders like bowling pins. Could make a massive difference to momentum if they bring him on at the right juncture.

Lowrie is in the team solely to shore up our defence when we're running on fumes. I'm not his biggest fan by any means, but I can see his value in that respect.

Hopefully Oates gets a bit more game time. Great to see the kid back in the mix.

Team selections aside, I think discipline is something we need to watch. If we turn up with the same intensity, the Dragons will find ground hard to gain, and their opportunities scarce. Gift them soft penalties to piggy back up field and we invite them into the contest.

i actually think maybe they've been keeping hala out of the team to try get his fitness up in qcup? or maybe to let him know he's close but he needs to work harder. it may pay off in a month or two if he knuckles down. theres a beast of a player there but we need 20+ minutes of it, not just two good runs and then become a passenger. that run he made from the drop out is the stuff i've (and i guess all of us) have been yearning for for two years. if he never sees something near his potential it will be one of the big disappointments of the last few years (in terms of individual broncos players) for me.

We're going to need all these fringe forwards to be firing come Origin time.

thats exactly why i dont understand wallace sitting on the bench the entire first two rounds. gotta get these kids 15 - 20 mins a game for the experience.

Hala should be in the side after his performance on Friday night. He deserves it more than the others. He could make a huge impact in the Dragons game.

That run has made me so hopeful, however one and a half powerful runs in over a year now, he needs some consistent runs on the board before I'm convinced he deserves a jersey over anyone else.

Yeah I agree with this. He needs to be used as a battering ram. The short ball at the try line they used him for on Friday night should be his go to play

Please enlighten me.

Why did RTS and SKD score? Was it brilliant creative play by the chooks, or lousy one-on-one defence AND no one coming across in cover having NOT seen the bloody obvious play that was about to happen?

Cordner's try... a classic chooks set play with Pearce. Yes, we were tired, but Cordner, like SBW, ought to be a WARNING WARNING sign with a top defender ALWAYS on either close to our line and NO HOLES for them to run through.

Tiredness is no excuse. It was poor defensive structure and weak one-on-one defence that cost us that game.

Widdop is a specialist going out wide both with a terrific passing and kicking game, especially to Morris. That is where they score their points. That is where we need to focus our wide defence.

I hope Vidot marks Morris

On the Cornder try, Thaiday had just been knocked out (for the second time in 10 minutes, which wasn't pulled up by the refs) the tackle before and the chooks ran at his hole in defence.

Hala is too much hard work. He is also a very simple one dimensional football player. Hell, he doesn't even have footwork. It's smash and hope that he doesn't drop the ball.

Spectacular to watch, but he requires a perfect combination of a hooker that knows when to use him, a tired opposition forward pack, a motivated Hala, a fit Hala.

Would much prefer someone how is more productive.

When Thaiday went down for a second time in a matter of minutes the game should have been stopped and he should have left the field for his safety.

If the NRL cared about it's players welfare like it claims to that would have happened and that try would never have happened.

But it's more important that the roosters win. What would politics and gyngell say if they were denied a victory just so a player could get off the ground safely

They could have put another ad on - win win?
