Just heard on the news Griffin has dumped three players for Saturday's game. Can anyone confirm?

Yeah sadly they didn't give him much of a choice did they so one you can't chalk up to Griffin's fault, fucking piss weak of them really after such a dismal display against the Panthers.

why do professional athletes continue to do **** like this?

Agreed. Filthy with Reed. He's one of those players that has not had a good run of form the last few years but Griffin has shown a lot of loyalty towards regardless and this is how he repays it. What a joke.

Wow, I was fully expecting the forum to be in meltdown over this.

I'm livid. After the season we have had, and the recent losses - our season is ON THE FUCKING LINE, and these guys do this??? Are they fucking serious???

Grow the **** up and show some fucking respect for the jersey. You fucking numpties.

Yeah six months ago I would have been exactly where you are, but I'm pretty blunted to all this now. With the exception of a small few there hasn't been pride in the jersey for years.

We are just another club to pick up a fat pay cheque at for these guys. Its all words and no action from the top down.

The club doesn't give a shit so why should I?

THAT's what burns me the most. We're just another club now. Have been for a while but I've been in denial. **** that hurts to admit. I'll always back the club but geez..

Here are some things to consider.

1. On July 18 2012, Griffin re-signed until the end of 2015. At that point, we were 3rd on the ladder, we had won 10 out of our 16 games for the season and 30 out of the 43 Griffin had been in charge for, which is about 70%.

2. Since then, we lost 7 out of the remaining 8 games of that season to finish 8th and have only won 19 out of our 48 NRL games since Griffin retired, which is about 48%.

It would be silly to blame all of our problems on Griffin's re-signing, but it is strange that it prompted an unprecedented wave of failure for the club.

Also, anyone who wants to laugh and cry at the same time should read this - Broncos Re-Sign Coach Anthony Griffin And Extend Contract

Anthony Griffin started NRL coaching life as a fill-in while the Broncos waited for Wayne Bennett but he has since become one of their best bets, with the club re-signing Griffin to an extended deal in the top job.

Brisbane chief executive Paul White formally announced a two-year extension to his contract, which finished at the end of 2013, at a press conference at Red Hill this morning. He will coach the club until the end of 2015 now and likely beyond.

The 46-year-old has been an instant hit at the Broncos, not only for winning 31 out of 44 games with a young squad and taking them back to the NRL finals.

His management skills and ability to ease the club into the post-Lockyer era have been a hallmark of his short tenure and it’s highly likely his services would have been sought by rivals.

He has also shown that he is able to make tough decisions on playing talent. Griffin showed the door to one of the club’s brightest backline talents, Dane Gagai, when his discipline wasn’t up to level demanded by the club.

Griffin began life as an Under 20s coach before becoming an assistant to Bennett then filling in after the dramatic axing of Ivan Henjak, which unfolded just weeks before the start of the 2011 season.

I actually find this great news. Dropping three players for something like drinking while the season is on the balance is the kind of non-compromising griffin of old. These kind of decisions is what made have a lot of respect for him during his early days here (eg gagai) and is part of them reason I was late on the sack griff band wagon.

This will show the players that they aren't above the team, or above punishment. I hope whoever replaces them absolutely kills it and makes them fight for their spots back.

I've always said that I'd much rather be a shit team that tries it's guys out than a team of underachieving cunty star players. **** them all off for all I care.

If Hook brings back Reed he should be sacked on the spot.

For once, we had a genuine centre playing in his rightful position. For the first time, we had actual strike power at left centre, and boy did it show against a very good side

Absolutely. I will lose it if he takes Copley out of centre.

White should be there when this weeks team sheet is read out to the boys.

Griffin: "at fullback, josh Hoffman. 2, Vidot. 3, re....

White: "Righto that's enough, pack your shit and go"

Haha, I had a genuine laugh at picturing that.

P.S. Not that I disagree with you, but that might be wishful thinking...
