what's Ivan henjak coaching record in first grade like against griffins

not sure about win percentages ... but under Henjak we were hammered far more than we have ever been under Griffin (and Henjak had Lockyer there for his entire stint as coach)

Just watched the press conference. Not the usual Hook. He was very disappointed and pointed to our "loose" defence. Parker was ****ed too. I wouldn't be surprised if we come out firing next week. I think Barba will be 5/8 next week and I wouldn't be surprised to see Copley spend a week in the ISC.

I agree Brett, but I can't see it happening. I mean, we were meant to come out firing last night after the Sharks debacle. We were 12-nil down before I had even got my first beer out of the fridge.

There is a real lethargy to our game and I have no idea what the solution is to snap us out of it. I would have thought all these tough, close losses throughout the year would really galvanise the team but not much has changed.

I think that is a bit harsh on copley. He is the clubs leading try scorer and is playing out of position on the wing. He is a far better centre than winger. My next point will cause some controversy but as much as mcullouch tries hard and works hard, his attack out of dummy half is very limited. All the top coaches know that everything starts from the 9 and I just dont think he gets out of dummy half enough and quick enough also. Watching baptiste the last few weeks makes me cringe as he is killing it now down in Canberra and it confuses me even more as to why he didnt get a real shot at the club. Im guessing griffin either didn't like him or never watched him kill it week in week out in the isc.

Agreed....but, he's got one dropped ball in him every game.

Not saying he dropped a sitter last night either, but the better players will catch those 9/10. Dale's average isn't quite there yet, which is a shame, because the rest of his game is pretty solid. .

Pretty much hey.. That's probably a lot of the reason why the players like him, I can't even imagine him raising his voice, and if he did it was just be laughable, we need a coach that would bring some fear factor.. a la Toovey or Bellamy

I say sign Tommy Raudonikis when he gets better.

He would bring in the fear factor, they stuff up & he bashes the crap out of them.

Copley is definitely playing out of position, but he should be able to catch a ball that's passed to him. He should also be able to catch a bomb. He costs us 2 tries against the Sharks, 1 against the Panthers and also dropped that pass against the Panthers.

I like Copley, I think he'll be a great Centre. Most of my beef is with the coach for playing him out of position.

He plays Centre at any other club (if he was playing for another club, that is), IMO, and he rips it up.

Yeah but he'd also have all the players on diets of concrete, VB and winnie reds. Probably wouldn't do much for the backs' speed.
There are a few of the forwards who could use the concrete though. Maybe get him up here as an assistant.

He just looks ****en jack of it, TBH. When the reporter asked Hook about Barba's lack of confidence under the high ball, Parker kinda gave a snide smirk, kinda like, "Yeah, what a **** ****". Maybe I'm reading it wrong, but he definitely looks fed up.

I agree but if that's the case then it's time for Parker to step up and earn his pay check as a captain and give his side the rocket they clearly need.

Because lord knows Hook won't. He'll just mumble something about getting in the grind, before picking the exact same team for the 18th round in a row, before it's nap time again...

Brisbane Broncos Players Back Coach Anthony Griffin | Triple M NRL

Corey Parker has taken aim at unsubstantiated rumours trying to place pressure on coach Anthony Griffin, adamant the players back their mentor to the hilt
Ill-informed reports have tried to suggest movement of other coaches at other clubs, including Wayne Bennett, could have repercussions at the Broncos.
However Parker showed the solidarity of the playing group at the Broncos, when he said they were fed up with it.
"It really bugs me," he said.
"I realise the industry is a results-driven industry but I can assure you on behalf of myself and co-captain Justin (Hodges) that the coach has got an enormous amount of support from the playing group.
"We back him 100 per cent.
"The respect he's got within the playing group and organisation here is of the highest quality."
Said halfback Ben Hunt: "The boys want Hook here and I want him to stay here so everyone has to stand up this week.
“He’s not the one out there. Sometimes the coaches get hard done by, they aren’t the ones out there missing tackles and letting tries in.
“Hook is contracted here and we’re happy with that.”

I really don't know how to take this.

Are the players really taking responsibility for their own play? Or are they just defending the coach who provides them their comfort zone? I trust Hodgeo and Cozza so, I really don't know.

Just means they're comfortable with him and the results they're getting since he's the one running the team.

The buck stops with the coach and he doesn't seem to want to change anything.

If Corey and his team really want Hook to be their coach they need to lift. Defence is all attitude and they just haven't had the right attitude the last few weeks.

He would be the perfect fit for Benny Barba

Just imagine Tommy throwing a pig's heart at him and shouting "this is what a heart feels like you weak ****, etc etc"

Locky is on the board and he is too much of a professional to publicly bag the coach (regardless of his opinion)

Parker is the captain and again he is too much of a professional to publicly bag the coach

The funny part about that is, he probably would do it.

I still remember how he went off at Johns for being in the sheds after Goddard knocked him out.

He's played two games for the Raiders off the bench and whole year before that in ISC. His contract hasn't been renewed for next year. Raiders haven't given him anymore of a shot then the Broncos did.

You can't be serious. 'Killing it'? he has played two games that he has had to share time with Buttriss, Glenn Buttriss. He has been ok, he looked alright against a woeful titans side. He hasn't been re-signed yet by the raiders and in fact they are looking at importing a hooker from England... Makes you wonder why they would be looking to do this if he is 'killing it'

I hope you are not trying to suggest that he is better than McCullough, because that's just not true. Although there are enough people on here with an agenda against Macca that I'm sure you will find support for your argument.
