not as bad as Kahu and maranta under the high ball and he is a pretty good tackler from my recollection but he can run and pass and I am sure he would join in the out the back play Boyd is so good at doing at pace and have that running smoothly

Come on man, if there's one thing Maranta is better than Copley at, is under the high ball.

Possibly better hands too in general, Copley seems to have 2 sets of feet.

Your first and only mistake was taking anything said on LU seriously, Pete. That place is a troll farm

Maranta is pretty good under the high ball.

He had a bad game against Storm, but it's Cooper Cronk. When he strikes the ball the way he wants to, they are extremely difficult to catch. Even some of the best in the business have had trouble catching his bombs from time to time.

It also didn't help that he had Hodges next to him abusing the shit out of him all night long.

Apart from that, he has been very good. He saved our ass more than once. Against the Bulldogs, Warriors.

As I understand it, he's off contract in 2015, so if he doesn't play he'll probably leave anyway?

If we manage to keep Kodi by giving him a shot at first grade this year, chances are we can keep Jayden.

I like the way pug thinks!

Maybe one day we can field all 4 of the Nikorimaii!

No, we don't need him.

That showed after the Rabbitohs game last year. And with almost a full pre-season of someone preparing for the role, all will work out just fine.

I am just commenting on his perception.

Although while it may work out- pretty sure plenty said that about the 6 position this time last year.

If we see Maranta at fullback I will cry, I don't even think he is good enough to be on the wing let alone at fullback.

In my opinion we have more effective fullback replacements in Kahu and Nikorima.

We have enough creativity on the field now to utilise a player who can catch bombs and run hard. I know Hoffman can do that but he's not a good long term option because of how much he costs.

Of course we are using it so we can sling shit at Bennett. He dropped the stocks, and now we don't have any apart from useless players, or blokes that are untested in the position and competition.

He was given permission to speak to other clubs. It wasn't at the request of his manager, the Broncos went to him.

If we kept Hoffman and Barba we still wouldn't "have any apart from useless players, or blokes that are untested in the position and competition".

OMG! FOR THE LAST TIME!
MILFORD WILL BOT BE FULLBACK, BENNETT WANTA THIS SEASON TO FORM A COMBINATION IN THE HALVES HE'S NOT GOING TO WASTE HALF A SEASON WITH MILFORS AT THE BACK TO CHANGE WHEN BOYD COMES BACK! Remember people you are not the coach, Wayne Bennett is.

Well he has pace! Might be a bit rusty though.

Rage smashing your keyboard is not conductive to good spelling. But I agree that Milford won't be fullback, or is at least very unlikely unless all our other fullback options suck in the off-season and one of our young halves learns how to tackle.

A part of me wants us to just play it safe with a Maranta, Kahu or Eden at Fullback until Darius returns mid-way through the season... another part of me really wants us to take a punt on Kodi at Fullback, what's the worst that could happen? He stinks it up and Wayne drops him for someone else.

It would add another dimension to our attack with Kodi at the back, some speed, some X-Factor. Probably not the safest option, but who cares.

I like the idea of Copley at fullback. Copley, Kahu or Maranta, with a proper pre-season, in the position could easily do a good job. I'm looking at the positives - it didn't happen in round 1 so we have time to prepare and Boyd doesn't have to rush his comeback.

I also agree with Big Pete regarding the recent mockery of Boyd's injury. Stay classy, fellas and remember everybody rides on the karma train.

Regarding Hoffman's tweet, is there any way to tell it was directed at Boyd? I doubt it so I'm prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt. It's a very vague comment so I won't get stuck into him based on such flimsy evidence. I think he should do his talking on the field next year if he wants to prove the Broncos wrong.

Even with hindsight, I'm glad we decided to go in another direction for fullback. If Hoffman is still on the books what would this be? His sixth chance at the back? Some people in life don't even get a genuine first chance. What makes this bloke think he deserves a second or any more chances is beyond me.

We all know Milford won't be fullback. but this is a forum, where as members of it, we are able to give our opinion on what we believe to be the best option for the team.

What is the point of a discussion forum, if we all only post what Wayne Bennett will do.

We are able to disagree with the coach ... At least we used to be able to when Griffin was coach.
