Put Milford on a quality track that doesn't resemble a fucking Louisiana swamp and he'll carve up receiving offloads like that from Parker and Blair.

3. Alex Glenn
2. Anthony Milford
1. Justin Hodges

Honorable mention to Thaiday, he had a decent game. As did McGuire and Blair.

Very solid defence up the middle, our second tier outside backs have a lot of developing to do.
Milford should be at fullback, but Nikorima was quite good.

Scratchy at times, but for a 2 degree swamp, there was surprisingly few errors.

Overall 6.5/10 I reckon

Agreed, that ground was a disgrace up there with Suncorp stadium when it was the beach.

Our defence was outstanding, we should be really happy with it. That try saver from Hodges in the first half was incredible, despite his lazy defence in the second that got Wigan over for their second.

Hodges, Thaiday, Glenn, Maranta and McG were excellent, Blair was great, Milf was amazing in the second half, Kahu was great. Whitchurch was better in the second half but couldn't be much worse in the first. Fun game with a fantastically funny end.

Can't be unhappy with that. The conditions wre abysmal, we were rusty against a team well into their own competition but we were positive in defence and looked ldangerous partially in the second half. On a dry deck back home points are defeinely on the menu

Notable mention to kahu who was very solid and Glenn who gave their halfback nightmares all night

I'm just glad we won, to be honest. I couldn't stand seeing the Broncos lose to an England team.

I thought they really missed Copley, Reed and Gillet. I'm happy with the win though. Who got man of the match?

i'm really excited for the season after that match. with it being the first match of the year some rust was to be expected but we warmed to the task in the second half i thought. the track was dodgy and we made a few silly errors that im sure will be ironed out come the real deal, but there are a lot of positives there.

new recruits looked great. milford started to come into his own in the second half and a dry aussie track we probably run away with the game.

agree with most on player performances. thought maranta had a pretty good game too

wish hodges would stop those arm tackles though!

All those saying Milford should be 1. Who would our 6 be and would they be a better 6 than kahu/hodges is at 1.
What about Milford's performanc tonight was bad enough to warrant moving him?
His kicking game was average but he had 2 good grubbers.
His running game and short passing to Glenn was great and really ran them off their feet in the second half. He did tonight what we were all hoping Barba would do last season by sniffing around the ruck.

On a side note J Offa is trying to prove Bennett wrong and IMO is on the cusp of a bench spot over Gavet.

I didn't know Wigan already started their season, so I'm more pleased they were more settled in than us and we still managed to get the job done.
