Yes ..exactly. Why the **** are some around here thinking "Hail Mary" plays....7 RDs into the season and leading the comp ??

It's ridiculous!!
Hail Mary play?

Ridiculous is to think that this is about where we are now, as opposed as to where we are going... but yeah, some people can't see any further than the length of their nose.

Danger game on ANZAC day Parramatta are unpredictable and you never know what Parra team is going to show up. When they are on their day they are a challenge for any side.

I think our fortunes in this game will depend mainly on Hunt. He was poor against the Dragons and did not step up and take control when we needed him. I hope Vidot gets another chance , either on the wing or in front row. Except for his errors ,which surely WB can flog out of him, he was actually one of our best against the dragons.

This week at training I hope the WB concentrates on some set plays or at least strategies when we are attacking the line. No more inane hit ups when we should be asking serious questions of the defense.

If we persist with Milford at 5/8 , then maybe he needs to stand a bit deeper . He seems to lack space to work in.

I feel it is pointless talking about Reed anymore . He will never be dropped.

Couldn't agree more, other than to say I understand Hunt wasn't 100%, which then brings up the major issue of whether or not to play someone who isn't 100%. The speed, power and pain of the game today demands 100% fitness. So Hunt can be excused to an extent, if he wasn't well, but I am still cranky that Hodges sat there almost smugly on the bench smiling as the team felt the impact of losing him, compounded by the other injuries.

For mine, leadership and taking control of the team under adversity were key failures for us last year, and that showed again when the Dragons really took it to us with their defensive speed and consistency. Someone needs to step up, to take control. We won't get through the toughest games without it.

As for the bolded bit of your post, absolutely critical ... and I return yet again to that wonderfully crafted and executed 1st try v Dragons.

As for Milford, definitely needs room to run and not be locked up. It was be good to see him at his best improvising outside a rigid structure. Milford needs to be unchained.

Did anybody notice the lack of offloads against the Dragons, it was probably because of the way they defend (like us) that we couldn't get as many out. I think it made a big difference, some of Parker's ect offloads make us look really dangerous and gives us a lot more opportunities.

Anyone else thing that Hodges playing was maybe a ploy by the evil genius coach? I don't think it's really the case, but let's look at it. We'd won 5 in a row, while playing tough football, but have by no means been excellent. Coming up against an ex-Bennett team should have had the team on edge, but maybe there was an air of arrogance creeping in? Bennett doesn't like it, decides not so much to throw the game, but to see who cracks under pressure and who thrives. Want to push the point? Scramble the backline up and then do it some more at half time, see who can simply get on with the job. Not the craziest thing he's done.

can we just suspend Bennett from coaching for a week, whenever we come up against an Ex-Bennett coached team ... he has an abysmal record against former teams. :takdir:

Seems a bit farfetched to me.

I love Morkel's machiavelic machinations.

Wayne personally "worked" Hodges hamstring at half time to ensure he couldn't return to the field.......genius play !!

Bullshit .....where we are going.

OK ....we are we going? What deep dark corridor of rugby league hell have we turned down after losing one game to St George?

FFS get a grip.

What are you going on about? Dark corridor of RL... losing to the Dragons... jeez, expand your horizons.

Not everything is about what happened last Friday mate. Get a grip!

So you're unhappy with the way the season is going......is that it?
I've explained myself in the Milford thread already, and if you paid attention to my review of the Dragons game, you'd know I'm not unhappy or bagging anything... which doesn't mean I don't think it could be better.

Do you only strive for improvement when things are bad? I don't.

Starting to like our chances now. Parra might have won today but they're bog average and we are coming off a tough loss.

Parramatta are not bog average. On their day they are very tough to beat. They belted us last year and beat the premiers this year - who flogged us. Like a lot of teams they are inconsistent. They could easily turn it on this week. I don't think there are any 'freebies' in the competition anymore. Even Manly can spring an upset if the other team takes them lightly.

I agree.

Hodges has to be 100% or not play. We really really need Kahu. I sense a big game from Milford. I foresee a very tough match.
