We're going to have to start thinking about the future at some stage mate.. He's 33.

the problem with your comments is that everytime i read your comments it is you righting someone off saying there shit or we need to get rid of them, until you are wayne bennet and a world class coach i advise you too leave them decisions up too wayne, first it was you saying hunt is hit should have kept taylor, glenn is bad we should have got rid of him and now its lets retire parker and bring in ese'ese and arrow. broncos are going great guns so how about we keep the side we have got

You basically just lied through your teeth regarding everything you said about me, I never called Hunt bad at any point, I never called Glenn bad, I never said we should "retire" Parker. I also don't need to be Wayne Bennett to have an opinion on a forum, now please stop bothering me and focus on your own posts, because trying to decipher them is the hardest thing I have to do all day.

Well we'd obviously have about a decent amount of cap space if Parker retired and Glenn & Wallace were moved on, some of which would go to re-signing Gillett, the rest can go to signing depth forwards.

I don't really see how our strong forward pack turns into "severely understrength", could you please enlighten me on that? The only significant loss would be Parker, who does all the dirty work in attack and defence. Arrow has all the makings of being an extremely similar player long term, literally averaging like 220 metres and 45 tackles game in the ISC. We'd also probably gain some grunt by replacing Glenn with Thaiday (This really would only work if Sam was motivated to lose a bunch of weight and finish his career in the second row)

The rest of the starting pack remains the same, and our bench arguably gets stronger, with another season of Ofahengaue getting better, and Ese'ese & Pangai just being enormous skillful humans that would provide far more impact than our current bench does.

You lose an Australian rep player in Parker, a NZ international in Glenn and a solid and seasoned first grader in Wallace and replace them with 3 rookies which is what they are no matter how you paint the picture. Then you have the backups which aren't there any more. You want us to sign depth forwards? Why not just mould the young kids coming thru and have them step into roles when an established first grader gets injured? You also say you would gain grunt with moving Thaiday to the second row but in reality you weaken our bench with no established first grade on the bench (Ofahengaue is still quite raw). The talent gap when McGuire & Blair would come off would be massive compared to now. Arrow can average 500 metres in QLD cup, you have to do it in the NRL and the gap level between the NRL and QLD cup is massive. Not saying he wouldn't go decent but to suggest that he just takes over Parkers role like its nothing is quite simply degrading to Corey Parker and what he gives to this squad.

To weaken our whole squad to get a few rookie players in would be a stupid move. Bennett will know when they are ready and when they are banging down the door for a first grade spot he will find a spot to give it to them. Moving on better players to accommodate them is stupid.

Do you think the Storm will tap Slater on the shoulder and say, Munsters here now, **** off billy we don't need you any more your 32
Or the cowboys with Thurston to accommodate a younger player?
Because that's what your effectively asking Parker to do

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, it's kind of what this place is about.

Also, did you skip English at school?

We would have to if you wanted your wish for Parker to retire because he has already said he wants to play on multiple times and I don't think he would be saying that if he wasn't genuine about it.

He'll probably retire after next season anyway, and sure he is 33, but to me he hasn't shown any signs of slowing down, he's just as good as he was 3-4 years ago, and I see no reason he can't be just as good as next year. I have no doubt he'll retire as soon as he feels he's slowing down, and even if he doesn't make the call, Bennett will definitely give him the tap on the shoulder once the time is right.

What was actually said: "Kind of hoping Parker retires so we can see some more of these guys."
What you are implying I said: "Man Parker should retire, he's so bad, please make him retire Wayne! Arrow is a future immortal!"

Get real dude, I was just emphasising that I'm looking forward to seeing our young forward stocks get more opportunities next season IF Parker retires. Stop trying to make this into a negative please.

Guys stop acting like little school girls and get back to discussing the topic like rational adults.

They don't need to tap Slater on the shoulder ... by the time he "returns" he will have been out of the game injured for about 18 months, thats a long time out of the game at 32
