You cant have it both ways.

Either he couldn't do his job because of the forwards, or he could.

If its the former, then he added nothing as i suggested but theres an asterisk. If its the latter, then he was woeful.

Either way, as a playmaker/half/dangerman, he did not bring much to the table. You can say thats because of the nsw forwards, but that would still render my comment valid - he didnt do much, and his lack of kicking game put a lot more pressure on cronk.

He was clearly told to just run it - and he did. He looked for opportunities but there was nothing because QLD couldn't get through NSW's forwards.

He added as much as he could, given the circumstances. Cronk and Smith made a lot of bad choices last night, but they weren't getting much support.

He looked dangerous - if he had played the last half hour, who knows?

Don't suggest anyone saying Milf didn't let anyone down is kidding themselves.

Did you not notice Smith and Morgan 'minding' him? It stifled quite a bit of attack.

If anything milf going off at that time saved him from more criticism - i think the game was gone when he went off even if mathematically we were still in it.

Being told to run it is fine if it works. When it doesnt though, there is no plan b for someone like milf. Thats a problem in origin, you can't be a one dimensional playmaker.

Absolute non-sense. All of it.

As painful as it is, Fifita is one of the best forwards in the comp when he's on.

IMO we need to play to his biggest weakness, his discipline.
We need to get under his skin and piss him off, force the errors and penalties and the rest will follow.

Personally I'd keep Myles ( surprisingly) and replace Lillyman and Guerra, not sure with who though yet.
Myles just has the toughness and determination built for origin and it'd be great to blood some rookies around one of the few tough as old boots players we have left.

Lol

Continue floundering on why milfs 2 jinking runs in the first half that went nowhere were awesome and he was a definite threat that wouldve definitely ripped the game open despite not getting close in the first 55 mins.

Or you could definitely keep posting about why Milford definitely should have been kicking which would have definitely improved his game which was definitely not 'solid'.

Seriously, we definitely need four more posts from you bagging Milf out.

Maybe they should have let Milford kick last night, seeing as 90% of Cronk and Smith's kicks were poor.

All the talk pre-game was about how Smith and Cronk would handle steering the team around - they just didn't have much when things weren't going their way. Smith looked tired.

One good thing to come out of the game is that NSW took it to the next level , which means at least Qld have no option but to at least try and go with them. Five hit ups and a kick and hope to induce an error from the blues just wont cut it anymore.
TBH I am so sick of that stuff anyway.

Also as much as it pains me , it was actually good to see a big mobile forward skilfully offloading the ball a la Artie Beetson. . Is there anyone out there who can fill the role of an offloading forward for Qld.?

If you cant see how only having one kicker in the side is an issue, i cant help you. Hint, its to do with balance either side of the ruck. One option - goes to the same person everytime whos usually positioned on the same side every time. Can you understand how this makes pressuring our kicker a lot easier, especially if the forwards arent doing their job?

And yeah, it wasnt solid, im not a sycophant so i can call it as i see it. Milford added nothing.

Cooper and Smith were in charge of kicking. Gee you're a plodder.

You really don't understand do you?

Milford can kick.

As i said earlier. One out runs are just boring footie. Never gonna break a game open with that game plan.
An offload will create second phase as the defense are back pedaling just like they did to us on several occasions. Not to mention the fatigue it creates in the defense.
Like they used to say. Let the ball do the work.

I don't get the hate on Milfords performance last night and I am one of the biggest haters of the bloke. I think he was decent without being spectacular which pretty much goes for the entire side apart from a few muppets like O'Neill and Myles. They never got any ascendancy in the forwards. We did pretty well to stay in for as long as we did. Oates, Chambers and Gagai were exceptional bringing the ball back. What Thurston will provide is pressure off Cronk with the kicking game which tbf is a massive part but even if he played last night it wouldn't have made much of a difference. I rewatched the game half an hour ago and I was surprised how well Milford went to be honest behind a smashed up forward pack. Still comes down to the fact that we need to bolster the forward pack or it doesn't matter if you have Johns, Thurston or Lewis you will still get smashed. McGuire or Papali need to play in the front row and bring in either Lowe or Cooper. Napa and Myles just can't get through a big enough stint in the front row where I think McGuire or Papali could.
Id go with

1. Boyd
2. Oates
3. Gagai
4. Chambers
5. Holmes
6. Thurston
7. Cronk
8. Napa
9. Smith
10. McGuire
11. Papali
12. Gillet
13. Lowe
14. Morgan
15. Hess
16. Wallace
17. Cooper

Would not be worried if Slater took Boyds spot and then Boyd to the wing over Holmes but I heard rumours that Walters talked to all the relevant blokes around the Storm and they are still not confident in Billys shoulder defensively. It makes sense. I believe if Smith wanted Slater in he would have got his way.

Because Why Not.

1. Billy Slater
2. Darius Boyd
3. Corey Oates
4. Dane Gagai
5. Valentine Holmes
6. Jonathon Thurston
7. Cooper Cronk
8. Dylan Napa
9. Cameron Smith[emoji767]
10. Josh McGuire
11. Sam Thaiday
12. Matt Gillett
13. Josh Papalii

14. Korbin Sims
15. Jarrod Wallace
16. Cohen Hess
17. Anthony Milford
