Plenty of sane people have topped themselves too.
I'm not quite sure that would be true... you'd gave to be pretty far gone to commit such an act.

What about people suffering from fatal diseases with no chance of being cured? Are they mentally unstable by killing themselves?

Suicide is not just an act committed by the unstable.

@Super Freak

That's why quite a few countries allow "Assisted suicide" for such cases. I personally think it should be legal everywhere, but that's just me, I'm sure there's plenty of people who would be anti that.

Because suffering from an incurable fatal disease is not a reason to become deeply depressed...?

Fake jersey sale behind the sacking of Gold Coast Titans forward Chris Grevsmuhl
RIKKI-LEE ARNOLD and TRAVIS MEYN, The Courier-Mail27 minutes ago

AXED Titans forward Chris Grevsmuhl was let go by the club over accusations he sold a number of his jerseys on Facebook but never sent the goods out to fans who had already paid.

The Titans has confirmed reports by The Courier-Mail that the former South Sydney and Penrith forward had been released by the club, but would not comment on the reasons why.

However, it is understood it was due to the fact the troubled Grevsmuhl — who only joined the Gold Coast in March — took payment from at least 10 fans for jerseys that he never delivered.

In a message exchange obtained by The Courier-Mail, Grevsmuhl told one fan he needed the extra money to help pay for his wedding.

The Titans were then contacted by those who had been left out of pocket by the 24-year-old and have worked to pay back the fans from Grevsmuhl’s own salary.

But now they have released him from his two-year contract over the incident.

Grevsmuhl has battled a number of personal issues in the past, including depression, and it is understood the Titans are extremely concerned for his welfare.

The Gold Coast did everything they could for him and his health while he was at the club but agreed to the release with his management earlier this week.

Neither Titans CEO Graham Annesley nor Grevmuhl’s manager Col Davis would comment on the situation, but it is believed the once promising youngster will take another break from the game until his off-field issues are sorted.

A spokesman for the NRL said they would not be conducting their own investigations into the matter as they felt it had been appropriately dealt with by the Titans.

Grevsmuhl’s continued troubles are a worrying sign for someone who was once considered a future Origin player by Queensland coach Kevin Walters.

He was in Walters’ emerging squad in 2016 and was part of the group that were suspended for breaking curfew.

This is the second time this year the NRL has dealt with this kind of situation, after former Tiger Tim Simona was handed an 18-month good behaviour bond for auctioning off signed football jerseys for charity, only to use the money for gambling.

It is understood Grevsmuhl’s matter is not a police issue.

Another piece of shit that blames everything on their "depression"

An absolute copout to anyone that actually has it.

I think in this case it's legit. He was laying bricks before he joined the Tits because he couldn't handle the pressure of first grade.

So what? The people I know who deal with depression aren't committing fraud because of how shit they feel.

My response was to the accusation that he's just pretending to have depression.

That maybe the case, but it's a cop-out to associate depression with the crimes he committed. He's a shit **** for even allowing such a suggestion to be made for him.

Depression can make you do some fucked up things. It's not the sole reason, but it seriously effects your judgement especially when in a situation that feels helpless. There were likely many other contributing factors that may or may not have been his doing, but the tipping point could well have been a mindset of hopelessness.

It doesn't excuse him, it just means that the best thing for him is likely support, not just calling him a shit c. It looks like the Titans are exploring that.

No, just no. Depression does make people do desperate things, generally to themselves, out of a mindset of having nothing to live for essentially.

What it also does is detach you from the world, and seek any way to not have to deal with anything at all, which would be contrary to scheming to defraud people like in this case.

He may well have been desperate for whatever reason, but leave fucking depression out of it, which has become the main tool for people to shy away from responsibility for their actions, and only damages its actual sufferers!

What? Depression doesn't necessarily make people suicidal. Nobody knows the circumstances that led to his actions. My comment stands that his actions in the past have been classic depression, let's just not throw him in the same category as Fifita or those other princesses who have just never learned accountability.

Please just stop, I said if depressed people do desperate things, it is generally to themselves. They will be focussed solely on their outlook on life, not how to **** other people over.

The only think you're doing, is enabling any fuckwit out there to blame their actions on "depression".
