My question is why the **** are we still talking about Dugan? He is irrelevant.
Holmes is not Dugan, Holmes has an opportunity to not be like Dugan. Who the **** even brought up Dugan! U IZ DUMB!

Holmes is the exact mirror copy of Dugan. Both have next to none playmaking ability or kicking ability. This is why they arent great fullbacks in today game and never will be.

Speaking of Dugan.. remember that time we had him signed and then tore his contract up because some guy baited him on Twitter and Dugan cussed him out?

We need to find whoever that guy was and buy him a beer, saved us big time. (Even though I think the money we saved from not signing Dugan went towards Barba..)

Matty Johns has it spot on. All the 6s need a little bit of 1 in them and the good 1s have a fair bit of 6 in them

Agreed you go back to the mid to late 90's when the likes of O'Neill, Lockyer, Schifcofske were hitting the scene, they were very much prototypes of the fullbacks to come. Not just ballrunners but playmakers and could provide a quality kicking game as well.

Well it's not the 90s is it. No fullback in today's game kicks it's just unnecessary.

Yeah his talking about passing ability, Slater, Boyd, Inglis and Tedesco only kick if they caught by accident on last with the ball.

Plenty of club fullbacks do attacking kicks within the attacking 20. Maybe not every set but the ability to keep the attack on edge with the fact that they might just roll one into the ingoal is a huge bonus. Plus, Holmes cant even throw a decent cut out ball and has no idea on positioning for a fullback in attack. The game against Lebanon when he played fullback, if we played Turbo at the back we score atleast 50 points because he atleast has those fullback traits these days that clubs will pay big dollars for.
Holmes reminds me alot of Hoffman. Gun winger but doesnt have the weapons in his arsenal to be an elite fullback.

Only if he is caught with it, best believe Thurston or Morgan will kick before Coote has the chance.
Sorry mate, Coote is definitely a legitimate kicking option (as is Moylan).
Before Thurston got injured he was easily their second option to the point where those 2 would split either side of the ruck and be the respective (right and left) first kick options.
Only when Thurston got injured did it force Morgan to be a primary kicker (amongst other things). Which, on a side note, has been a blessing in disguise for the Cows.

Yeah im not saying they can't kick, I'm saying to be a good fullback you don't need to have kicking ability the greatest fullback of all time in Slater only kicks the ball if he's stuck with it on last.

And QLD, as well. We'll be spoiled for big game options over the next few years in some of the play making positions.

Remember when josh Hoffman was the next big thing. Then we found out he couldn't pass or kick.

Yeah, back then we had Lockyer to make up for that too. I seem to remember that during those Lockyer years Hoffman didn't even try to get involved in ball playing, which at the very least meant he didn't get in the way. Maybe that's why we were still impressed with him in 2010 and most of 2011.
