Selctors meeting downstairs at the moment.

Big decision is Handscomb or another bowler/allrounder.

Marsh is the obvious since he is back bowling and the Bulls' guys have said how flat Perth is at the moment. It might be hard work.

WA got 414 and Qld replied with 424 last week.

Mitch Marsh will come in to the squad for Sayers, unsure if he'll play or not, it's a pretty long turn around so our 3 quicks should be fresh enough to get through a high volume of overs.

As much as I despise how M.Marsh has performed for Australia in tests, he's playing well in FC and Handscomb looks extremely poor at the moment. I'd rather give Handscomb the rest of the series personally, the last 3 pitches are all good for batting apparently, give him a chance to bat himself in to form.

Yeah you've summed it up really well here. I think this is the reality. I would also like to see Handscomb shown some faith but he has looked appalling every innings so far, he is basically a walking wicket.

Australia squad for third Test: Steve Smith (c), David Warner (vc), Cameron Bancroft, Usman Khawaja, Peter Handscomb, Mitchell Marsh, Shaun Marsh, Tim Paine, Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, Nathan Lyon, Jackson Bird

So MMarsh gets his 600th undeserved go, at least he has actually been playing ok this time.

As a batsman maybe but his bowling doesn’t warrant selection

I liked how he bowled against the Bulls, and that he bowled a lot more than he was told to by CA.

England (2 Tests): Anderson 8 Woakes 6 Broad 5 Overton 4 Moeen 2 Ball 1 Root 1 28 wickets for 1081 runs @ 38.61

Aus (2 Tests): Starc 14 Lyon 11 Hazlewood 7 Cummins 7 1 run out 40 wickets for 957 runs @ 23.93.

I reckon that despite what the wickets show, Cummins has been far and away the best quick, his pressure is just relentless and that sleek he bowled on the afternoon of day 4 was absolutely terrifying. To do it at the death and produce such serious heat tells you why he is rated so highly. Throw in his batting and he is going to be a great if he can stay fit.

I don’t even think his batting does necessarily, hence saying he’s been going ok, not great. It is the Ashes though and the selectors are going with experience over anything else obviously.

SMarsh shouldn’t be there but he has rewarded the selectors for his undeserved selection thus far.

On form, both Marsh brothers are fine selections. It's just a matter of "Fool me once, fool me twice, how many times are the Marsh brothers going to fool us?"

Shaun Marsh 17' JLT Cup - 412 runs @ 82.40
Mitchell Marsh 17' JLT Cup - 338 runs @ 169.00

Shaun Marsh 17' Shield / Ashes - 432 runs @ 54.00
Mitchell Marsh 17' Shield - 402 runs @ 44.66

Only team to come back from 2-0 down Australia in 36-37.

Lost in Brisbane by 322 runs.
Lost in Sydney by an innings and 22 runs.

Bradman's first two Tests as captain and they wanted him sacked after being out of form 38, 0, 0 and 82.

In the third Test in Melbourne. Australia declare 9/200 after a massive storm juiced it up. England then declared at 9/76 So Bradman reversed the batting order and told his tail you can't hit on the good pitch you won't edge it out there.

Bradman came in at seven and knocks a lazy 270. Australia win by 365 runs.

Adelaide 148 runs.
Melbourne innings and 200 runs.

England haven't won in Perth since 1978/1979.

Has Maxwell been blacklisted? MMarsh still has a piss poor defensive technique and better pray that the WACA is as flat as it's been for the shield games, where, funnily enough, he has scored most of his runs.

If Khawaja goes MIA at the WACA surely Maxwell gets a look in for Melbourne and Sydney. If you aren't confident playing him away from Aus you have to give him the flick if he's not even performing at home.

Punters baying for blood and calling out for a huge knee jerk sacking after two games?

I didn't realise BHQ had been around for so long.

Wow the English media and former players can lay the boot in lol

It’s not just the Shield.

NZ 2015: Aus 9/559 and 7/385 and NZ 624 and 2/104.

Two double 100’s and four 100’s.

South Africa last year was high scores and quick.

Then this year Bulls scored 7/290 in just 59 overs.

Redbacks chases down 324 in 93 overs.

So what you're saying is if Joe Root wins the toss he'll bowl?

How good has Lyon gone against the lefties?

132 balls to left handers that have pitched in line with the stumps. From those deliveries he has taken 6/38 at an average of 6.33.
