Peptides were popular with a certain club some time ago... :angel2:
Since then they have won a premiership and been in the top 4 nearly every year. Imagine if we did the same thing lol.. where is incentive to do the right thing, teams cheat (storm, sharks and even parra last year) and there punishment is so light that they either win a premiership or their get their best result in decades and they reap the ongoing rewards from what they did that year.

It never gets mentioned in the media but Storm and sharks would not be where they are WITHOUT CHEATING. Imagine if we got caught cheating the cap like the storm did or giving our players peptides systematically for a year. Ffs we would be docked 20 points for 5 years in a row and fined $10 million. I mean, the media is blowing up because andrew gee is sitting in the broncos coaching box! Isnt the manager who was responsible for the storm salary cap still running about?! Wtf. The amount gee was reported and never found guilty of (hello roosters) was a deop in the ocean compared to the storm stuff. Bennett would be de-listed if he was responsible for what either bellamy or flanagan had a hand in...

I am sick of sydney fans saying we get an unfair advantage. Over it, how about we divide the tv money up based on money and fans the teams bring into the game, or we get rid of the salary cap. This “we must help the small clubs” mentality pisses me off, why the **** are they in the nrl if they cant survive without handouts?

2018 rant over....

It will be really interesting to see what souths team turn up this week after the controversy going on. A motivated and strong performance will only solidify him as my choice for us. And it would further embarrass us (in my eyes) for our excuses (coaching “drama” effecting our performance, lol classic) for that performance on the weekend and many others this year....

Also, very interesting timing by the media to bring this up when it has been known about since May. Once again the media doing the right thing by our game, withholding it till it causes maximal damage to our sport. I keep thinking back to what rupert murdoch said when he came all the way to australia to sign the afl up in a rage (along the lines of “afl is number one”, “we will do everything we can to grow afl in the eastern states”... seems unwanted saturation isnt working so they turn to trying to diminish the number one sport in nsw and qld)

Souths have known about it since May- the lady in question has been contacting the club and being ignored after being told we will look into it- so she went to the media now.

What do people reckon of giving Hodgo a assistant role next year,
He bleeds for the club and wants it to succeed
His influence alone could help the team
Probably should wait and see who the head coach will be next year before firing JD and replacing him with Hodgo. Bennett isn't a certainty of being there next year and rumblings around Red Hill are saying that he will be given his walking papers. Maybe Hodgo will be handed the top job. I reckon he would be a natural for it.

This is just a what if question what if players want to be coached by WB because they are not punished as much under him. For example less fitness less restrictions as you would from other coaches. I’m sure Bellamy has a lot of discipline.

Or maybe they just prefer being led by the most successful coach in RL history. This talk of non punishment and easy training sessions is stupid.

So her attempts to extort the club were unsuccessful? Wouldn't this be a police matter and not a media one?

Yeah S&C was pretty shit this year, never more obvious than with the injury scourge we suffered. Gillett gone for the season very early, Glenn and Kahu constantly out, TPJ struggled with injury for most of the season, Bird unable to sort his pre-season issues out all year, Haas gone after 20 or so minutes of footy, Sua gone for the year well before finals....It was shocking.

I'm not sure any level of S&C can work against 'crusher tackle to the neck'.

I know. Youre not implying that the media didnt know about it until now? Thatd be just a little bit naive :-/ the timing of this is exactly like the lodge situation, release it when it gives them the most clicks (eg a week before a season starts at the biggest club, or the week before an all syndey elimination final between possibly the 2nd and 3rd biggest supporter bases in the nrl)... that isnt reporting/journalism, thats marketing stratergies....

There is no way that the media get an idea of a controversy about poor behaviour and say let's sit on this from May until Dragons v Souths might come up and use it then in September. They run to their platforms half arsed all the time, patient investigation isn't exactly a hallmark of 2018 journalism.

I don't think it's naïve at all to think she complained to Souths, Souths haven't done too much so she's said stuff you now I will force action or at least reaction. The Souths' investigation has already verified that the emails were sent and not replied to by Souths after the first one.

Shafer will be in the line of fire for this and Seibold certainly didn't look too informed or happy about what he found out about today.

OFF-CONTRACT winger Corey Oates says he does not want to re-sign with Brisbane if Wayne Bennett is not coach after revealing four NRL rivals are circling for his signature.
Oates confirmed St George Illawarra and Gold Coast Titans were among his suitors as he tried to decide his future in the wake of a tumultuous season for Bennett.
A six-time premiership winning coach at Red Hill, Bennett has a contract for next year but there is speculation the master coach will walk away if he does not get an extension for the 2020 season at an upcoming Broncos board meeting. Bennett is feeling the heat after falling out with the Broncos board over a lack of a succession plan.
His cause was not helped by the Broncos’ shock 48-18 NRL elimination final loss to an injury-hit St George Illawarra last week.

Queensland winger Oates said he wanted to stay at the Broncos — if Bennett was there.
“I wouldn’t want to re-sign with the Broncs if Wayne is not there,” he told Fox Sports’ League Life.
“It’s tough but I feel like he is going to be there.
“I want to be there and I want Wayne to be the coach.”
Oates confirmed the players took sides in the fallout over Bennett’s clash with the board and said their preference was a no-brainer.
“I didn’t think we had to pick a side, it is pretty easy — you back your coach and we did that as a group,” he said.
“When we realised things were getting pretty bad, we wanted to show that we want him as our coach this year and next year.”
Oates admitted the speculation swirling around Bennett took its toll on Brisbane, who still managed to finish sixth and secure a home final.
“I don’t think people realise that it does take a toll on the playing group,” he said.
“There were times when the conversation popped up with ‘Does anyone know what is going on? or ‘Is Wayne going to be our coach next year?’.
“And then you hear them talking about other coaches.
“Personally it is tough when you are trying to re-sign.”

Discipline isn't an issue in that regard.

Wayne's not going to be the coach in a couple of years, three years if he gets his way, so if some of these blokes feel this way about him we're going to lose them eventually anyway. Deadset, some of them need a wake up call as to how good they've got it at the Broncos. Go have a look at the facilities at a shit hole like Manly or talk to Hunt about how great it is being under the spotlight in NSW.

Oates is a great player, and has been wonderful for our club, but 800k (could very well be fake news from journos) is just absolutely bonkers for him. Just quietly, I have no idea how the Dragons are in the market for anyone.

EDIT: The GC also lol. They're going around throwing 700k+ at spuds like Boyd and Wallace, have Taylor on over a mil, have signed an overrated centre on big money in the form of Peach, and need to re-sign AJ (unless they don't care about losing him? They'll probably lose him and then have a meltdown).

Lol they werent specifically waiting for this exact game, how could they have known that this game would eventuate? They have sources and inside scoops inside every club in sydney then all of a sudden they dont for this story? The whole organisation would have known about it-therefore the media would have too. They would have sat on it and sat on it and sat on it until they thought “bam, its now or never”.. if they released it then they lose the stpry then, if they wait then that story would have just as much value in round 25 as in round 3. Its a win-win with a big upside if the team gets into the finals. Its not rocket science lol

He we fucking go again.

If this is how he's acting, **** him off with Wayne there or not.

First this bumpkin whinges in the media about wanting to play a position he's fucking useless at, now he thinks he can pull this shit? **** him off.

On Corey Oates, look I love you as a player Corey, but if that's your attitude, you can **** off right now. I'm sorry but you just can't have players dictating who is going to be the coach! And a club can't appease players by appointing a coach when it may not necessarily be in the best interests of the joint.

I've got a great fucken boss at work, but if he were to suddenly be sacked, or get a better offer elsewhere, I can choose to go with him or just suck it the **** up and get on with life.

You can't have the madmen running the asylum and frankly, thats what this club is becoming at it's current rate of madness and ineptitude.
