If this stuff was said by Seibold, it was said to his bosses, not the media ...

And Seibold has every right (and even a responsibility) to air his grievances to his superiors ... Especially about things like cancelled training camps and lack of hiring assistants.

Hell, it is likely that Souths bosses leaked this email to the media since the were pissed off at not getting their second choice coach early.

If everyone involved can just admit what happened, we can move on. If The Broncos discussed swapping Wayne, they should admit it and say they changed their minds and are happy with the current arrangement. If Wayne let Souths know he was coming, and changed his mind, admit it and have done with it. The situation reeks of shit because someone seems to be lying.

Sounds like most partys aren't telling the truth, that's why it's such a shit fight.

Also, if we take Wayne and the Broncos at their word, it’s Seibold that is continuing to make this an issue. He wants to be here next year, and is upset that he was led to believe it was happening independent of what Wayne wanted.

If what he claimed is true about Wayne’s dealings with Souths, he might get his wish.

Yeah he's well within his rights to complain. I have no issue with that, the media made it out like he went to talk to them.

Who leaked the email though? If it's an email from Seibold to the CEO, it has to be one of those 2.

People here like to bag the media for writing false stories about Wayne & the Broncos. That's fair enough. Then these same people come up with there own speculated theories, with no solid evidence, about what is going on. That's called hypocrisy.

Very true , but this is the thing no one knows or isn't saying anything. Both clubs haven't really set anything in stone, even Bennett's presser wasn't backed up. Obviously there is dealings being done but neither club has been willing to come out and back anything up.

No it's not.

Prove the hypocrisy, I dare you.

The media present their theories as fact, when it's often complete fabricated bullshit. Who on here has presented any theory as facts and "inside sources"?

There's a clear difference. If the media said, "we believe", or "the most likely scenario", or "we're just guessing", no one would call them out.

Indeed, broncos could have come out after Wayne and said “that’s that” and clarified any dealings with Souths. It seems to remain an issue because one or more people involved are making it an issue, beyond the media beat up.

Everyone is trying to come out on top. That's not gonna happen. If the club doesn't do the right thing by Seibold than he may opt out of his contract. Sure he stands to make a lot of money by honoring it, but he might back himself to secure an opportunity somewhere else on similar coin.

It’s clear Brisbane doesn’t have a media or marketing department that’s functional or an executive structure with some kahunas in a modern world, or they are being muzzled.

If the email is real, Wayne needs to be gone by tomorrow.

The interesting question is, who is behind leaking the email to the Daily Telegraph/Sunday Mail, the sender or recipient? Can only be Seibs or Bunnies CEO Blake Solly. Who has more to gain from it getting out into the public eye?

The email says more about Souths management than the Broncos. Despite being in the same boat, the Broncos aren't making as much noise which suggests they're far more organised. Reading through the issues the article raised, a lot of them are nothing new for clubs in this situation. Even the last time when this all happened with Wayne, decisions were made about the Broncos roster without Wayne's consent that he had to live with. While that was all happening, he also had to sort out the Dragons roster where there were all sorts of dramas happening, like their best player, Mark Gasnier, walking out on the club over a contract dispute.

The NRL is not for the faint of heart. Players, coaches, support staff, management can be given all the assurances one day and make major life decisions around said assurances, the next it can all go to pot and you find yourself uprooting once more. You've got to be prepared for anything, and more often than not, it's your family that has to cop the brunt of it. That's the sacrifice and you've got to be willing to make that risk if you want to make it.

Nothing about this article suggests that the Broncos aren't Bennett's first priority. All it suggests is that placating Seibold is no longer a priority to South Sydney.

But how can it be said Wayne's first priority is the Broncos, as you infer Pete, and at the same time he was allegedly making committments to be at Souths on Dec 3? Isn't that a conflict of some sorts.

We don't know the nature of the commitment. Bennett expressed uncertainty about his future at the club, so if he believed there was a chance he could be released by the Broncos, he would have indicated December 3rd would have been his start date.

You can have all your bases covered, and still prefer one base over another. Going off what's actually been said, that's what I believe has happened.
