If so, how have we not been a consistent team? Only Melbourne have done better in the last 4 years, and even they got embarrassed in a grand final by a team with a 1 arm half back.

They also won a gf though, and were the best team all year, just about unbeatable. A win is a win, but the quality of our football the last two years could hardly be called consistent - you just never knew which team was going to turn up, the switched on contenders or the uninterested pretenders. More to the point, the quality of football could hardly be considered consistently good or of high quality, imo.

Macca didnt appeal for anything. They make it sound like he called a press conference to make his thoughts known. The guy had media duty and answered yes to question which really only had 1 answer.

I sure they've done the calculations and figured out that negative Bronco's publicity is far more profitable in terms of clicks and ad revenue etc than keeping the press neutral.

The Broncos will always be a successful entity in Brisbane, ticket sales and merch sales probably don't suffer enough to matter, or rather, the upside is limited.

Whereas, a Benny is losing the change room, or There's a Rat stories will always generate interest outside of Brisbane.

If I were the conspiratorial type, I could posit that this is exactly why they are shareholders in the first place. They get enough insider access being large shareholders, to put a new click-baity article out each day, with just enough truth to get the interest stirred up. There's no rat anymore (have fun Cowboys), but there's plenty of moles. :P

I think the next 12 months will be hard for all concerned, regardless of the quality or application of the team. Old timers like macca or boyd will be under scrutiny every time the team doesn't perform regardless of their individual input, simply for what has transpired in the coaching. Whoever is brought in will be under pressure too to perform with the new coach, or be seen as disposable, with no buy-in for their investment by the management. Lastly Siebold with need to at least better Bennet's performance this year with a supposedly "better" team (despite every new coach being challenged by reforming the team to his image).
For mine, I think we will make the finals and depending on the how the halves perform, go atleast as far, but a new coach and the loss of some important veterans could lead us to fall short if injuries to key players happen (remember a new system will be in place and it will take a while for the players to buy into it).
Whilst everyone thinks maguire is easily replaced, I think he in particular will be the most missed. His energy and consistency, even amony the veterans still with us, is just not present. Lodge and TPJ might be able to be that kind of player, but they also might very well have moments of "madness" as young forwards (and gallen) are prone to.

Really good to hear that his assistant and high performance from last year are coming along... Seibold's methodologies for training appear to be heavily intertwined with sports science so he needs those two specifically to help ease the transition for the playing group and also to give him a coaching staff that already know and believe in his systems.
