Because we are dealing with people's lives. It's really just dependant on the player and what he needed to have set in place in order to give up his career in union. If the lure of playing for the Broncos was enough then that's great for us.

It could be a simple as he doesnt like Union. Our 2 wing spots are tied up, our fullback spot is tied up, we actually dont have a position for him at the moment. He has to back himself.

It appears as though the positions are tied up. We'll see how it unfolds.

I struggle to believe anyone likes union much these days.. in australia anyway

We could still release Kahu and sign Perese if we wanted to. In my opinion it's all up to Seibold now. The club's management has had their say on everything they wanted to. They've picked the coach that they believe will make the right decisions here.

We cant just release Kahu, he needs somebody to take him on or we are liable for his wages.

Good luck picking the forward pack for round 1. If guys like Fifita, Offa, Su'a and Lodge hit the the ground running in the trials with the form they showed in 18, you're gonna have the likes of Gillett, TPJ and Glenn fighting over 1 starting spot in the forward pack.

A lot will probably depend on how gillet goes after his neck injury. I hope he gets back to his best though.

If Bennett was still coaching everyone on the forum would agree with this statement wether we like it or not. But with Seibold now our coach no one knows his plans so anything can happen.

Unless Boyd gets injured, I'm fairly positive it won't change. Issako isn't even close to Boyd as a fullback. The only reason Darius really got the stick he got last year was because he played when he wasn't fully fit.

Lot's of clutching at straws now Seibold is coach. The team still pretty much picks itself, the only thing Seibold will have a big impact on is the playing style.

All Seibold really should do in his first year is get this still very young squad at 100% on the fundamentals. Brick wall defence, solid conditioning and at least decent work in the ruck. We have enough flair across the park that the attack will naturally follow. Then comes the ball handling and get those skillful big blokes like Joe O and TPJ throwing out the offloads for 2nd phase play on the line.

I think he's gonna do this anyway but I'd also be putting an end to this Boyd defending up and in shit as well. It was a good tactic while it lasted, but oppositions have it worked out and it costs us points we can't afford to concede.

He should and at least do what you said.

I have a good feeling he may over achieve.

Our squad may look a lot better playing Seibold's style of footy..

Does anyone remember how good the Walker and Sutton combination was for Souths this year?

Seibold will definitely make sure he gets a good combination with Milf and whoever plays backrow and centre over on the left.

If Boyd's form is good he stays at FB. Having Boyd, Isaako and Oats slamming down the flanks on the back of a pack moving forward would be killer for meters gained.

Milfs game will change if the pack gets disciplined and gets meters and width. Having TJP, Lodge, Sua, Gillett, Fifita and Haas bending and stretching the opposition forward and sideways gives plenty of opportunity. It would also need macca to be switched on and ready to run/punch a kick. Its even possible to use Bird at 5/8 over Niko with a sorted pack.

Sounds dreamy but the Milf and Macca domino needs to fall the right way for it to work.

If Seibold can get the best out of his captain Darius Boyd this year it turns us into a red hot team come finals time.
He is in the position where Darius could be reaching out for a new father figure in his life and he may use this as an advantage to take him to a new level as a leader.

I’m just gonna put this out there for some of you that think Gillett will be fighting for a spot. The only thing that could keep him out of the starting side is his fitness. He’s the best back rower in the world. It would be like leaving that Christianity Ronaldo bloke out of a soccer team. It’s just stupid.

So if he plays well, you want him gone?

Yeah, I'd prefer him gone. I was never happy about us signing him in the first place. It's great if he plays well for us but if we have the option to release him from his oversized contract we should. Imo

Jesus would be angry if that happened
Do agree re Gillett. He is the lynchpin in defence and only an idiot thinks that he would lose his spot to a rookie based off one injury. If half of these younger players reach the talent level of Gillett, we will be in for a few good seasons ahead.
