I had previously thought macca was important for leadership in the team, but during our time without him we beat competition heavy weights, a team we were expected to be beat (which we often lose) and a grinding win against the warriors. It made me question the effectiveness of his leadership.

In saying that, i entirely expect him to be in the 17 next week at the expense of seggy.

Bird started his rehab this week, polar opposite to 12 months ago he is studying and positive and happy around the place.

I think we give isaako a shot at fullback this year. His performances last year warrant a chance, he also did OK in his games at fullback from memory (2 games there?). If he doesn't take his chance then seibold will need to decide if niu or Walsh are our future and bloods them early or he goes to the market. Another option that I am surprised isn't getting mentioned is gebbie from wynumm-manly. He seems to be blitzing them in QLD cup and is a bit more mature. I know he isn't signed to us but he is playing for our affiliate qld cup side and we have spots in our roster

Those days are done, they got rid of the second tier cap giving call ups to guys like that won't happen anymore.

It's June 10 so in 20 days you'd have to sign him, no training, never been full time, never train at Brisbane, give him 100k and then hope he can play NRL.

Extra layer of risk he is injured and didn't even play on Saturday.

The second cap would allow you to register the Edene of the world, and then pay them $500 a win but teams aren't going to risk 100k and a top 30 spot.

Train and trials are it for those guys now, and get a deal on the back of a pre-season in November.

I think he's been great this year but I don't think anyone is bold enough to do it in June.

Walsh is playing for Keebra Park on Wednesday v Marsden so big jump to NRL. Nui isn't old enough until August.
